(CNN) A synagogue in Seattle has become the latest to fall victim to recent anti-Semitic vandalism.
Temple De Hirsch Sinai was spray-painted with graffiti calling the Holocaust "fake history," Rabbi Daniel Weiner said.
Weiner told CNN affiliate KOMO, "It was just horrifically disturbing graffiti that kind of encompassed all classic anti-Semitic tropes of Holocaust denial and of Jewish affinity for money."
The vandals replaced each S in the message with dollar signs.

(17,984 posts)charitable person I have ever met told me something I will never forget. He was helping me study Hebrew, and we got off on a tangent. At one point he said, "If you come across any Holocaust deniers, punch them in stomach. When they are down on the floor, kick them a few times. Then tell them it never happened."
In other words, you DON'T go there.

(24,591 posts)has stirred up is horrifying. We are rapidly becoming a country where white pseudo-Christian males (primarily) are at a virtual war with anyone and everyone that exists outside their bubble. I have studied Hitler and the Holocaust, and it is terrifying how many parallels we are seeing. Too many are othered, making them "justifiable" targets.

(17,390 posts)In other words, Trump has tried to focus on Muslims in an effort to cater to the folks on the religious right, but there really is no way to validate hate against non-Christians without tacitly endorsing such hate against Jews, particularly since there is such a long history of anti-semitism on the religious right.

(2,919 posts)The Germans were very good at keeping records, and a lot of their "deeds" were recorded and survive to this day. Anyone with a speck of intelligence can look up documents, photos, biographies of those that were there and survived, and of those that liberated the camps. To be a denier of this has to be one of the dumbest things a person can do/be. A true "denier" has to have so much hate in their heart, they will never see anything straight.

(2,919 posts)but denying something with SO MUCH evidence against your position, has to be the ultimate definition of insanity. I mean, really, if you knew someone that said the sun didn't exist, and nothing you could do or say would change their mind, wouldn't you think they were a candidate for the room with the mattress wallpaper?
