Amarillo, Texas, considering law making bestiality illegal
Updated 2:41 pm, Monday, March 6, 2017

AMARILLO, Texas (AP) — Officials in Amarillo, Texas, are considering adopting a law that would make bestiality illegal.

Amarillo Animal Management and Welfare Director Richard Havens tells KVII-TV (http://bit.ly/2mf8OVa ) that over the last two years authorities have seen eight to 12 cases involving bestiality.

There currently are no penalties in place to impose on perpetrators so city leaders will hold public hearings as a first step toward adopting punitive measures.

Under the proposal, a person who commits the offense would pay a $200 fine and also pay for the cost of care for an animal.

Y'know, bunch of guys that all go to the same bar, gym, or church with their families. And first one gets caught doing it, then the others wonder if it's all that, then one by one they get caught doing it, because, as that one anti-abortion/pro-abstinence sex-ed congressman from Georgia (I think) said a few years back "Well, sometimes when you grow up on a farm, and those urges start hitting you, your first girlfriend is a heifer..."

Or is this just measly busy work to give the illusion of lawmakers working on issues that need legislation?

Because the animals involved go to the bathroom with that genitalia. Just usually outside.

There must be a bunch of cowboys having sex with cattle and sheep and Amarillo just discovered it.

I'm good with the law, but what about all those lawmakers from the decades before protecting the right to have sex with animals? This must be a terrible time for them.

Horny young men in rural areas having sex with livestock is not uncommon at all. Studies say 5 to 8% among men in the general population. In rural areas it can be 3 or 4 times that. They even talked about it in Last Picture Show.

"I'd rather have a heifer than Tommy Sue."

Texas is one of 13 states where beastiality is legal, but if you hurt an animal during the act and don't get it treated by a vet, you can be charged with animal abuse.

I think the thing that's freaking people out NOW in Amarillo is that the victims have been dogs rather than livestock.

To paraphrase an old saying. "Texas: where the men are men and the sheep are nervous."

My point was bestiality isn't as uncommon as many people would think. Unfortunately, it is legal in 13 states and only a misdemeanor in 19 others.

Prior to the SCOTUS ruling on marriage equality, over half of the states that permit bestiality banned same sex marriage. Why am I not surprised?

Of course they're more concerned with this than about dealing with gun issues.

From the article:

“Primarily, right now, the victim species that we see right now is dogs, but once again this is an issue that's across the country. Amarillo is not unique,” said Havens.

My friends are so upset by what happens to dogs and cats when they are raped They can't even talk about it.

I can assure you that outlawing bestiality will only make rural conservatives more tense and harder to work with. It is an attack on their way of life, and just another abridgement of their freedom.

And care of the animal, does not seem like enough. Their name should also be posted, nationwide. Last month guy here in Fl., had sex with "Baby Girl" a pitbull, 100 times. I believe it is illegal here.
