During a town hall in Arkansas on Wednesday night, Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) faced a raucous crowd of about 2,000 people for two hours as attendees jeered and quizzed him on Republican plans to repeal Obamacare and the senator's support for President Donald Trump.
As Cotton attempted to answer questions, he was often met with chants like "Do your job" and "tax return," according to [link:http://www.cnn.com/2017/02/22/politics/tom-cotton-town-hall/CNN].
Some of the toughest questions for the senator came on Obamacare. One attendee, [link:http://5newsonline.com/2017/02/22/residents-react-to-senator-cottons-town-hall/Kati McFarland], began her line of questioning by asking everyone in the audience affected by Obamacare to stand up. Those who stood up cheered.
She then explained that she suffers from a chronic disorder, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, and said that she needs her medical insurance through the Affordable Care Act to stay alive. Without coverage for preexisting conditions, I will die, she said, according to the Huffington Post. Will you commit today to replacement protections for those Arkansans like me who will die or lose their quality of life or otherwise be unable to be participating citizens, trying to get their part of the American dream? Will you commit to replacement in the same way that youve committed to repeal?

Woman Who Confronted Cotton Said She Was Dismayed By His Response
By KRISTIN SALAKY Published FEBRUARY 23, 2017, 10:14 AM EDT
A woman who confronted Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) at a town hall Wednesday over Obamacare slammed the senator for brushing off her question during an interview with MSNBC Thursday morning.
Kati McFarland, a woman who has Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, a group of disorders that affects the skin, joints and blood vessels, gave an impassioned plea to Cotton on Wednesday night.
"Without the coverage for pre-existing conditions, I will die. That is not hyperbole, I will die," she told him.
When McFarland asked Cotton if he would commit to a replacement for the Affordable Care Act before it is repealed, he quickly moved on, seeming to ignore her question, a move that elicited loud boos from the crowd.

(8,964 posts)Any repeal of ACA will be referred to as Trumpcare. Sadly, if and when the law is gutted, real life victims will number in the millions. The GOP will own the outcome in its entirety. And what they're seeing now at Town Halls will pale in comparison to the outrage that ensues.
