Trump Claims He 'Inherited A Mess' From Obama
Source: Talking Points Memo

President Donald Trump claimed Thursday that he "inherited a mess" from President Barack Obama's administration.
"Our administration inherited many problems across government, and across the economy. To be honest, I inherited a mess," Trump said. "It's a mess. At home, and abroad. A mess."
He promised to "take care of it" but returned once again to his apocalyptic tone.
"Low pay, low wages. Mass instability overseas, no matter where you look. The Middle East, a disaster. North Korea we'll take care of it, folks," Trump said. "We're going to take care of it all. I just wanted to let you know, I inherited a mess."

Trump Attacks Press: 'The Level Of Dishonesty Is Out Of Control'
By MATT SHUHAM Published FEBRUARY 16, 2017, 1:16 PM EDT
President Donald Trump lectured journalists about their tremendous dishonesty in a press conference announcing his new pick for labor secretary on Thursday.
Shortly after announcing he would nominate Alexander Acosta to lead the Department of Labor, Trump said he had called the impromptu press conference to update the American people on the incredible progress that has been made in the last four weeks since my inauguration.
Im making this presentation directly to the American people, with the media present, Trump said. Which, is an honor to have you this morning, because many of our nation's reporters and folks will not tell you the truth, and will not treat the wonderful people of our country with the respect that they deserve.
And I hope going forward, we can be a little bit different and maybe get along a little better if that's possible. Maybe it's not, and that's OK, he added, addressing reporters in the room.

Trump: My Administration Is 'Running Like A Fine-Tuned Machine'
By ESME CRIBB Published FEBRUARY 16, 2017, 1:17 PM EDT
President Donald Trump claimed Thursday that his administration is "running like a fine-tuned machine" despite reports of "chaos" and his apparent inability to get cabinet members approved.
"This administration is running like a fine-tuned machine, despite the fact that I can't get my cabinet approved," Trump said at a press conference. "I turned on the TV, opened the newspapers and I see stories of chaos. Chaos. Yet it is the exact opposite."
He claimed that the media is "trying to attack" his administration for following through on his campaign promises.
"They are not happy about it, for whatever reason," Trump said. "But a lot of people are happy about it."

OK so first do not reverse Obama's overtime rule.
Second pass min wage increase.
Third sign on with Bernie to lower drug prices.
That would show us you really care about these issues and you have the Senate, and House so shouldn't be a problem.

(9,426 posts)More like a total DISASTER the taxpyers have inherited. I hope the gop is happy with THEIR clown. He is the WORST president ever. We lost all the CLASS with the Obama family, and have gone to CRASS with the orange ass and his nude model wife, his grifting kids trying to sell their Chines made wares on TV. After a few short weeks, he has cost taxpayers a fortune for trips to Florida, security all over the place, and asinine photo ops. What a laughingstock he has made of the WH, our government and even people who voted for him. Disaster, totally.

If it's fake news, then it really means that Drumpf didn't inherit a mess?
I hate doing verbal calculus this late in the day.

(2,338 posts)All that up-tick in the DOW and 1%er prosperity totally sucks for the poor!!! Right? How many low middle income or poor families benefit from a soaring DOW. I suspect none.
Unemployment requests ticked up by 5000 today.
Banks are happy. Of course they are. The DOW has surged. Record highs. While that might be good for my family. I hate that middle and low income families are suffering.
I grew up very poor in West Texas. I got lucky. I know plenty of people who are struggling to make ends meet. They are desperate and that is why they voted for the wild card, Trump.
When they don't see changes to their financial state, they will vote for anything other than what they have been dealing with. They will vote for anyone who promises to bring back their jobs and make their lives good again. The problem is that those coal jobs and other industries, like steel production, are NOT coming back. Industries have moved ahead toward modernization and cheap labor in other countries. Those jobs will never come back. Yes, that is unfortunate, but it is true. They are gone.
So, what do we do?
Personally, I believe in clean energy. Investments in solar and wind farms make sense. But it has to be done right. I spent a couple of months in AZ two years ago. Farmers told me of how the government used imminent domain to put wind turbines on their land and that they can no longer farm those lands. They are poorly compensated. That should be looked in to.
I could go on, but I think a book might be a better forum than a blog.

"Fine tuned machine"? Only suckers would believe that, and there are unfortunately plenty.
