Snowden's lawyer says extradition report is 'speculation'

Source: AGENCE FRANCE-PRESSE

Moscow (AFP) - Edward Snowden's Russian lawyer on Saturday dismissed a US report that Moscow was considering extraditing the NSA whistleblower as a "gift" to President Donald Trump.

Anatoly Kucherena, who has represented Snowden since his arrival in Russia in 2013, told Interfax news agency that "Russia has no legal basis to hand over Snowden."

US channel NBC on Friday quoted a senior US official with access to highly sensitive intelligence reports as saying Russia was considering the move "to curry favour" with Trump. Snowden's US lawyer Ben Wizner told NBC that he was not aware of such plans.

"All this talk is just ordinary speculation. Someone is indulging in wishful thinking," Kucherena said, insisting that Snowden "lives in Russia absolutely lawfully."

a bargain to ease the sanctions? Nope.
He is after all just another tool to be used at the proper time for them and if they think it will benefit them they will turn him over in a heartbeat with ease just like they will assassinate someone with ease with poison if they think they might be trouble.

I guessed that Eddie Snowjob's usefulness to Putin would end on January 20, 2017, regardless of who won. Although, I think that he would have still been useful had HRC won. But yeah, now Putin wants to give him as a "gift" to Lord Dampnut? What's he going to do, wrap him up in a big bow?
