White House changes earlier statement, says it may take fight over temporary halt of travel order to Supreme Court

By Matt Zapotosky, Philip Rucker and Rachel Weiner February 10 at 6:10 PM

BREAKING: Minutes after one White House official said the Trump administration would not appeal a 9th Circuit ruling upholding a temporary stay of the travel ban, White House chief of staff Reince Priebus said the White House is reviewing all of our options in the court system, including possibly going to the Supreme Court.

The White House is considering rewriting the executive order barring refugees and citizens of seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the country, according to officials, indicating the administration may try to restore some aspects of the now-frozen travel ban or replace it with other face-saving measures.

The deliberations come after a panel with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit declined Thursday to immediately reinstate President Trumps controversial directive. Officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal discussions, said the White House and Justice Department are also mulling whether to ask the full 9th Circuit or the Supreme Court to intervene. Government lawyers could alternatively wage a legal battle in the lower courts to address more squarely whether Trumps directive violates the constitution.

Trump and his gang of thieves can't be trusted for ONE MINUTE. They are either the most crooked, and stupid, people ever assembled in on building, or the largest group of incompetent liars on the planet. One or the other. Maybe both. I'll never believe anything they ever say about anything. If Trump said he looked like an orange orangutan I might nod my head like I believed him, but I'd sure check my encyclopedia to make certain I hadn't confused him with a horses ass.

This is a deliberate strategy, a complete subliminally-induced logical breakdown

They are working on our minds

RESIST!!!!!!!!

Because this strategy is how you break resistance, you appeal to both sides
of everything until some give up on both sides, some wait to try to figure it out,
and the rest surrender because you appear not to know what you're doing

RESIST!!!!!!!!!!

It's a crap organisation that played at covering the news, but was really no more than a group of far right ideologues running a glorified blog commenting on the news covered by the real media. With their front man just the face of a 'reality' TV show, he's no good without a real production team behind him, and most of the experienced Republican operatives kept their distance from his campaign because it looked toxic.

So they are a chaotic jury-rigged ship of fools. it doesn't help that half of them think chaos is A Good Thing. The awful thing is how the country is meant to get itself out from under the crash - or will the Trump regime limp on for months or even years?

To re-issue the ban would be to admit they made a mistake the first time and to go back to the district court would open their internal memos and emails up to discovery. That being said, I think they're going to get the same result at the Supreme Court as they did with the 9th circuit.

The real question is what do they do after that?

It's like the news is so dependent on who's doing the leaking. First there's one story, then others in the admin., not liking that staffers take, leak another version. OR - is it that hair furor is changing his mind so quickly? Is it just a matter of who he talked to last? This is confusing and curious.
