Sixth New England Patriot announces he will skip White House visit

Source: The Hill

A sixth player from the New England Patriots has announced that he will be skipping the trip to President Trump’s White House in the traditional visit following the team's historic Super Bowl victory.

Defensive lineman Alan Branch joins five of his teammates who have said they would not make the trip to the White House.

Branch did not specifically mention Trump in his decision, but said in an interview with SiriusXM NFL Radio this week that he would stay home with his family instead.

“I’ve got four kids at home so I’m just going to hang out with the family and continue celebrating until the next season starts,” he said.

I can't recall where I read it, but the election reportedly divided a lot of NFL lockerrooms along racial lines, white players liking Trump and black players not.

I wonder if we could convince Hillary Clinton and the state's Congressional Democrats to throw a big meet-and-greet street party on the Common featuring all the Patriots who are refusing to meet with Little Boots?

Wouldn't that be stark. I can't help remember Trump boasting: "the blacks love me"

Really seeing that love today.

52 players on the full roster. Then there are practice squad players, but don't know if those guys ever go to the WH. Maybe.

they'd stand with the 6 who won't go and say, "We're a team and we stand behind our team members who refuse to go to the White House because of the rampant racism."

THAT would be true courage.
