$750,000 bond for woman accused in Florida, Alabama killings

MILTON, Fla. (AP) — Bond was set Thursday afternoon at $750,000 in Florida for a woman who faces multiple charges in the deaths of four women in a bloody rampage across three Southern states.

Mary Rice, 37, made her first court appearance via video in Santa Rosa County, where she's charged with accessory after the fact to first-degree murder. She was extradited from Georgia to Florida on Wednesday.

She also faces murder charges in neighboring Escambia County, Florida, and in Baldwin County, Alabama, authorities said. If she meets her bond in Santa Rosa County, she'll be immediately arrested and detained on the Escambia charge.

A tip called in Tuesday afternoon led law enforcement agents to a motel in West Point, Georgia, where Rice and William "Billy" Boyette, 44, were holed up in a room. The two had been on the run in vehicles stolen from their victims in Alabama and Florida since early last week, according to investigators.

maybe why I don't hike anymore. LOL. I should but I have a lot more fears now...especially wild dogs which we hear alot in the middle of the night, our property borders a lake and there are lots of deer here. But that photo just kind of drives it home you never know who you might encounter out there.

The first woman killed was a former girlfriend who made the mistake of taking his cell phone. He hunted her down. The second woman was with the first woman so probably just had bad luck. The other two women were killed for their VEHICLES. Can you feature that? They shot and killed them for their cars.

There was much relief in this area when they were apprehended in Georgia. Later we learned he shot himself after the woman stepped out to give herself up. He had told others in the past that when he died he wanted to go out in a blaze of glory. That he would never be taken alive.

I know it can't be true because they aren't Muslim immigrants or Mexicans and they're not "from the inner city."

Dear Leader says those are the only bad people so this can't be true.

Who ever heard of criminals named Mary and Billy? Everybody knows real criminals have names like Abdullah, Pedro and Jamil.
