Mother of backpacker slain in Australia criticizes Trump

Source: Associated Press

LONDON (AP) — The mother of a backpacker slain in an Australian hostel has written an open letter to U.S. President Donald Trump, rejecting the decision to label her daughter’s death as a “terror attack.”

The slaying of 20-year-old Mia Ayliffe-Chung and fellow Briton Tom Jackson was on a list of 78 attacks the White House says were “executed or inspired by” the Islamic State terror group — and under-reported by the media. A man is awaiting trial accused of murder.

Rosie Ayliffe says the possibility that the two Britons died last year in a terror incident was discounted early in the investigation.

She says: “This vilification of whole nation states and their people based on religion is a terrifying reminder of the horror that can ensue when we allow ourselves to be led by ignorant people into darkness and hatred.”

Words cannot express the absolute loathing I have for the Trump/Bannon/GOP and what they are doing to my country. It is also difficult to put into words the depression I have fallen into since election day.

You are not in this, the only thing cheering me up these days are the crowds in the streets around the world, agreeing with us.
We must resist, no matter how hard it gets.
Keep strong and "Carry ON"

This is what happens when you have a President who just makes up stuff and then the staff has to scramble to find the "facts" which support the claims.

of revenge and destruction at entire groups of people based on the actions of a few. Trump, in all his crass, thoughtless, impulsive fury is what they want. Nothing less is enough for them.

thinking even in the midst of unimaginable grief.

On the other hand, it's Day 18 and we still have a bloviating know-nothing in the Oval Office with two weapons in his hand; a Pen and a Twitter account.
