No 'G'day, mate': On call with Australian prime minister, Trump badgers and brags

Source: WaPo

It should have been one of the most congenial calls for the new commander in chief — a conversation with the leader of Australia, one of America’s staunchest allies, at the end of a triumphant week.

Instead, President Trump blasted Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull over a refugee agreement and boasted about the magnitude of his electoral college win, according to senior U.S. officials briefed on the Saturday exchange. Then, 25 minutes into what was expected to be an hour-long call, Trump abruptly ended it.

At one point Trump informed Turnbull that he had spoken with four other world leaders that day — including Russian President Vladimir Putin — and that, “This was the worst call by far.”

-snip-

“This is the worst deal ever,” Trump fumed as Turnbull attempted to confirm that the United States would honor its pledge to take in 1,250 refugees from an Australian detention center. Trump, who one day earlier had signed an executive order temporarily barring the admissions of refugees, complained that he was “going to get killed” politically and accused Australia of seeking to export the “next Boston bombers.”

From the linked article:

“Even in conversations marred by hostile exchanges, Trump manages to work in references to his election accomplishments.
U.S. officials said that he used his calls with both Turnbull and Peña Nieto to mention his election win or the size of the crowd at his inauguration ...
to depict his victory as an achievement of historic proportions”

Thu Feb 2, 2017, 04:35 AM
Feb 2017

because he's saying that to politicians who know very well he squeaked in due to the weird design of the electoral college system.

Ask a political professional how close it was, and they'll say "what swing would be needed to change the result?" The answer is that he won Wisconsin by 0.76%: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_election,_2016#Close_races . Move 0.39% from Trump to Clinton in each state, and Hillary would have won. That's closer than Bush's win over Kerry in 2004 - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_election,_2004#Close_states - when he won Ohio by 2.11%, and that was the state Kerry would have needed to flip.

So if Trump wastes his time, and theirs, banging on about it, he really does think he's something special, and doesn't understand that politicians in other countries don't give a toss about his crowd sizes (and won't be fooled by Trump crap on the subject). "He repeatedly misstated the number of refugees called for in the agreement as 2,000 rather than 1,250 ..." - so he lies to the leaders of other countries as well as to Americans.

And in fact, we were warned. Just never dreamed it would reveal itself so clearly a few days into his Presidency. He cannot help this. It is who he is. Might as well tell him to stop breathing. We really have NO CHOICE. He must be removed, one way or other. 25th amendment. Impeachment. Whatever is the quickest way to stop this madness.

The very next thing we as citizens MUST do is demand his removal by those authorized to do it. Must be done before he gets us into a war or all of us killed.
