Infowars Taps Trump-friendly Birther To Lead Washington Coverage (Jerome Corsi)
Source: Money.cnn.com
The fringe right-wing outlet Infowars has tapped one of the leading promoters of the debunked conspiracy theory surrounding Barack Obama's place of birth to helm its fledgling Washington, D.C. bureau.
Jerome Corsi, author of the 2011 book "Where's the Birth Certificate? The Case That Barack Obama Is Not Eligible To Be President," said he's leaving WorldNetDaily, another conspiratorial publication to join Infowars.
Appearing on "The Alex Jones Show," a radio and Internet show hosted by Infowars' founder and proprietor, on Tuesday, Corsi said he believes he will receive credentials for White House press briefings on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. "I expect to get cleared, perhaps tomorrow," Corsi said.
A White House spokeswoman did not respond to a request for comment.
Corsi, who also co-authored a book questioning John Kerry's service in Vietnam that had a significant influence on the 2004 presidential campaign, has a history with President Trump. Jones said Tuesday that the reporter and the president have known each other "for 40-plus years."

(429 posts)During Obama's first campaign for president, Jerome Corsi appeared on CNN. He made allegations that Obama was a homosexual. My question is, why did CNN allowed him to do this? Because of it, the lie about Obama's sexuality remains in the ether. Frankly, more than Fox News and conspiracy websites, CNN and MSNBC were just as guilty of pushing fake news. CNN and MSNBC allowed Donald Trump to tout the birther conspiracies, along with others who subscribe to those theories. They gave validity to the ACORN, and Shirley Sherrod fake videos. They propagated the false narrative of Black Flash Mobs and The Knockout Game. If we had a viable Fourth State, one that is dedicated to democracy than the 1%, Ronald Reagan would have never been elected. Therefore, the presidency of George H.W. Bush, and George W. Bush would have never occurred. And certainly, there would not be right-wing radio, and Fox News.

The insanity of something like the White House giving Alex Jones/Corsi/Infowars credentialed status doesn't shock me.
It's only a matter of time before Sean Spicer is replaced by this guy.

(249 posts)He has been on radio show, Coast to Coast, many times. Heard him say the other night he was going to be doing other things and host wished him well. Guess this is the thing!!! He was so in love with Trumpy and SO excited when he found out he got elected. Hated President Obama and Hilary. I turned if off when I heard him on, he sounded like an evil man to me and not someone I cared to give any of my time listening to.

I have a friend that listens to it, so I was wondering if she's getting fed a lot of RW crap a lot of the time, or just occasionally. I used to listen to it in the late 1990's, back in the Art Bell days, and back then was mostly harmless stuff about crop circles and remote viewing and I forget what else. I forgot why I listened except for the Y2K stuff.
But about a year ago she was telling me about Jade Helm 14 in Texas taking over a Walmart or some crap like that and trying to convince me it was all true. I guess that's where she gets her 9/11 theories too.
