Pelosi Slams Trump's 'Hostile Appointment' To The Supreme Court

In a town hall event on CNN Tuesday night, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) slammed President Donald Trump’s nominee for the Supreme Court as “a very hostile appointment.”

Pelosi described federal appeals court Judge Neil Gorsuch as “hopefully [Trump’s] only appointment to the court,” and said that Gorsuch has “come down on the side of corporate America” on a number of important issues.

“Class action suits, on security fraud, he has come down against employees’ rights. Clean air, clean water, food safety, safety in medicine and the rest,” Pelosi said, referring to Gorsuch’s legal record. “If you care about that for your children, he is not your guy.”

Pelosi said that Gorsuch's hostility towards protecting those with disabilities with public education was especially troubling to her.

The Democrats will cave, because that is what they do. Have been my entire life. Gave in to Reagan. Gave in to Bush 1 and 2. Gave in when the GOP was an enemy party to Obama from Day 1.

I forget who the quote is attributed to but it remains true: "I do not belong to an organized political party, I am a Democrat."

The leadership has no spine and no principled fight in them.
The membership is disillusioned by the fact that the GOP stone-walled Obama for 8 years at EVERY turn and now we are going to witness what feckless capitulation to the majority party REALLY looks like...

If a single Democrat votes for Gorsuch - or ANY nominee not named Merrick Garland - they should be run out of the party and at a minimum face a strong primary challenge.

It's time to put the scoreboard up and put ALL party members on notice - you do NOT cooperate unless the SCOTUS nomination of Garland is renewed and brought to a vote first....otherwise, this is not a party that stands for anything and may become a party I can no longer belong in either...
