Denver police to protesters: Stop doing anything that could be construed as free speech

Source: Rawstory

Protesters at the Denver airport over the weekend were told by police that it was illegal to exercise free speech without a permit.

Denverite reported that over 200 people gathered at the Denver International Airport on Friday to protest President Donald Trumps executive order banning travel from seven majority-Muslim countries.

In video posted to YouTube, Police Commander Tony Lopez can be seen advising demonstrators that they are in violation of the law.

Stop doing anything that could be construed as free speech without a permit, he explains.

Maybe we should make a free speech peppermint candy to raise money for the ACLU.

That said, what Bush set into motion will come to fruition under 45. (I stopped referring to Trump with his name or a snarky insulting nickname, I only call him by his number.)

Dump probably didn't say this himself about free speech, or maybe he did. He definitely created the atmosphere that allows police to say outrageous things like this.

Tweet the video at him. If you're in Colorado, express disappointment with his police department. If not, remind him that tourist dollars are a significant part of the state's economy and especially Denver's economy.

I am so embarrassed by the dolts to the south. 90% of the time, Colorado does a great job on all metrics, but when someone decides to trip on their dick, they do so during the Super Bowl.

This is what they did to us in the '60's, in L.A.

Every time we had a rally and then a march, the LAPD declared it an illegal assembly and then they attacked us.

This will start again soon, all over the country, then the violence starts.
Get ready folks
It is about to get real bad

That would mean that reasonable speech restrictions are allowed so long as they are viewpoint neutral. Restricting protests that interfere with the operation of the airport is most likely a constitutional act. Requiring permits would also be fine.

Obviously, telling people that they need a permit to carry a copy of the Constitution is bullshit and would never stand up to any level of scrutiny.
