'Christians in the Middle-East have been executed': Trump fights criticism over travel bans

Source: Reuters

29 JAN 2017 AT 12:35 ET

U.S. President Donald Trump fought back on Sunday amid growing international criticism, outrage from civil rights activists and legal challenges over his abrupt order for a halt on arrivals of refugees and people from seven Muslim-majority countries.

In his most sweeping action since taking office on Jan. 20, Trump, a Republican, put a 120-day hold on Friday on allowing refugees into the country, an indefinite ban on refugees from Syria and a 90-day bar on citizens from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen.

“Our country needs strong borders and extreme vetting, NOW. Look what is happening all over Europe and, indeed, the world – a horrible mess!” Trump wrote on Twitter on Sunday. “Christians in the Middle-East have been executed in large numbers. We cannot allow this horror to continue!” added Trump, who has presented the policy as a way to protect Americans from the threat of Islamist militants.

Civil rights and faith groups, activists and Democratic politicians have promised to fight the order, which caused chaos and confusion for affected travelers and sparked protests at several U.S. airports throughout Saturday.

The largest number of innocent people getting executed in the Middle East are Muslims? But, they should not be allowed to escape those that want to or have executed their family and friends?

Oh, that's right, Trump doesn't think that brown Muslims are human beings -- unless they are investing millions into his hotels.

those christians being executed are not US citizens. God rest their souls, but how is banning innocent people from entering here going to stop the executions of christians in Pakistan and elsewhere? What is this, revenge? Very very strange logic here.

green card holders have already been vetted and are legal residents, they aren't refugees or immigrants at this point. Besides we know this is just a ploy to hurt brown people. If it were real, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Yemen would be included, but they aren't because even though more terrorists come from Saudi Arabia than any other nation they aren't included in the ban. You are willing for another 9/11 to happen with them leading the way as iong as your freaking $$ isn't disturbed. You are an awful, disgusting, ugly, orange assface of a Nazi.

bigly much safer.

Muslims won't be angered by being banned, nor will they be angry that Trump is calling for Christians to be given a preference. They instead will be happy to help Christians put up their Christmas trees, help them hunt for Easter Eggs, and so on. Banning Muslims will bring on a loving interfaith dialog; so terribly sad that people don't see that.

OK, I got it, I think.
