At CIA headquarters, Trump boasts about himself and promises support

Source: Politico

President Donald Trump declared fresh war on ISIS — and the news media — while trying to forge a new alliance with the intelligence community.

Speaking Saturday in front of the wall memorializing fallen officers at CIA headquarters, Trump promised to give the intelligence community his full backing, and hinted at loosening rules on torture put in place under President Barack Obama in the fight against ISIS. "We haven’t used the abilities we’ve got. We’ve been restrained," Trump said.

He drew laughs from the crowd when he described reporters as "the most dishonest human beings" and claimed he'd drawn as many as 1.5 million people to his inauguration despite official estimates closer to 200,000 and repeated images of empty standing spaces.

(Brett McGurk) to stay on, indefinitely, because he had no appointee to fill the position. He was too busy holding victory rallies and destroying everything the last Admin did, to find someone to head up co-ordinating the anti-ISIS fight with our allies.

So the brainless orange nazi is keeping the appointee of the guy he claimed "founded ISIS", instead of putting his own anti-ISIS chief coordinator.

And the folks in the room seem to be eating it up. Maybe you don't have to know anything to be a leader. After all, most people know how to do their jobs better than their bosses. Maybe all you have to do is get them motivated.

The scary thing is not Donald Trumps ignorance and egotism. The scary thing is what his success says about the American character. Every day he remains in office is a humiliation. The only way to redeem our honor is to send him home.

I am sure that Trump's supporters are now totally buying the idea that it is the media's fault. They just keep on showing what he is saying and doing, rather than what is in his heart.

http://www.cnn.com/2017/01/21/politics/trump-to-cia-i-am-so-behind-you/index.html

Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump, seeking to demonstrate he backs the intelligence community after a turbulent transition, told CIA employees Saturday at their headquarters: "I am so behind you."

"I am with you 1,000%," Trump said after receiving intelligence briefings from top officials at the headquarters in Langley, Virginia.

"There is nobody that feels stronger about the Intelligence Community and the CIA than Donald Trump," he said to applause, noting the significance of his decision to make the agency his first official stop on his first full day as president.

At the CIA, Trump blamed the "dishonest" media for the perceived rift with the intelligence community.

15. Question His Sanity

Jan 2017

This is another thing that makes me question his sanity. Just a few days ago he was claiming that the intelligence community had acted like Nazis. He also blamed the outgoing CIA director for the release of the dossier that claimed he had been compromised by the Russians. He also pretty much so said the American people should not trust what the intelligence community said about him or Russia because they had been completely wrong about the Iraq War. Before that he had repeatedly claimed that the intelligence community did not know what it was talking about in regard to the Russian hacking story. Now, he is blaming the media for the perception that he does not support the intelligence community. Those do not seem to be the actions of a sane person.

....with a man of Trumps character that he doesn't really care whether people believe his denials and excuses and distancing and deflecting from any failure or fuck up ?

All that matters to him is that he gives a line out that covers it - it's fake news, it's rigged, it never happened, it's a disaffected person, it's an establishment stitch up - and that, as far as he's concerned, is that.

The audience that included about 400 intelligence officers as well as some of Trump's White House aides applauded in approval. At one point, Trump claimed that most of the people in the room had voted for him.

1. Trump lies about everything. Here, he's lying about giving the CIA his full backing. But there are many in the CIA's employment who don't realize that Trumpy is a compulsive liar and will cut anyone's throat at the twitch of his finger. He's still conning everyone.

2. Trump lies about everything, and when his bully press secretary says that Trumpy got a big applause from the CIA people, I'm guessing that he was able to populate the room with paid supporters.

Trumpy is all about media performances. He will ALWAYS stage an appearance to his benefit. He'll ALWAYS inflate his brand. And he'll always punch down.
