Trump Says He Was 'Very Honored' By Clintons' Attendance At Inauguration

Source: Talking Points Memo

By MATT SHUHAM Published JANUARY 20, 2017, 3:18 PM EDT

During a luncheon with members of Congress on Friday after his inauguration, President Donald Trump thanked the woman he'd said on the campaign trail deserved to be jailed for attending the ceremony.

“You know, I'll tell you, there is something that I wanted to say, because I was very honored, very, very honored, when I heard that President Bill Clinton and Secretary Hillary Clinton was coming today,” he said in his off-the-cuff remarks.

The Clintons were in attendance at the luncheon and at his swearing-in ceremony earlier that morning.

“And I'd like you to stand up,” Trump said as the audience applauded. “I’d like you to stand up because, honestly, there's nothing more I can say because I have a lot of respect for those two people. So, thank you all for being here.”

The Clintons certainly HAVE given him a great honor by attending.

The first Trump statement I believed was the claim that he could shoot somebody dead in the middle of Fifth Avenue without losing the love of any of his supporters.

Trump was so relieved they showed up, I do believe he felt sincerely honored (relieved is prolly a better word).

OTOH, it's difficult to believe anything Orangeman says.

As part of his "honoring," he should have apologized for being such an asswipe with the "lock her up" meme he went along with.

I mean, yes, he did it. But he doesn't mean it. It's all an act. A ploy. So he can say he's trying to bring people together.

Hillary Clinton has more class in her pinkie finger than Donald Ass-Wipe Trump could ever hope to have.

Honestly, she is so tough and gracious. I don't know how she does it. Frankly, I don't deserve to be in the same room with her, even though I had the privilege once.
