On Brink of Repeal, Obamacare Has Never Been More Popular
Source: CNBC
As Republicans get closer to repealing it, President Barack Obama's federal health-care law or Obamacare has never been more popular, according to results from a new national NBC News/Wall Street Journal survey.
And half of Americans 50 percent say they have little to no confidence that Republican proposals to replace the law will make things better.
The poll finds 45 percent of respondents believing that the health-care law is a good idea, which is the highest percentage here since the NBC/WSJ poll began asking the question in April 2009.
By contrast, 41 percent of Americans say the health-care law is a bad idea. It's the first time in the poll since the law's passage in 2010 where more think it is a good idea than a bad idea.

(5,528 posts)How many with insurance say it's a bad idea? These polls are screwy. Like asking if the country is going in the right direction or not. The wrong direction can be either way but is interpreted as being too liberal.

(5,914 posts)If they had asked specific questions about items in the Affordable Care Act ("Do you think that your health insurance should pay claims for conditions you already had?" "Do you think your insurer should pay for services that prevent you from getting sick, without you having to pay a copay?" , they would get a much, much different response. People would overwhelmingly support its provisions.
Michael Moore wrote a book several years ago (maybe "Dude, Where's My Country?" where he invoked polls on specific topics. When asked about the specifics of what they'd like to see in society, Americans are as liberal as they come.

(45,494 posts)who want a more liberal single payer plan. These polls don't split that up.
Those liberals would mostly think ACA is better than anything the GOP puts out.
