Kerry criticizes Trump for remarks on German refugee policy

Source: Reuters

16 JAN 2017 AT 13:53 ET

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said on Monday it was inappropriate for President-elect Donald Trump to weigh directly into the politics of another country by branding German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s 2015 decision on refugees “a catastrophic mistake.”

“I thought frankly it was inappropriate for a president-elect of the United States to be stepping into the politics of other countries in a quite direct manner,”, and he will have to speak to that,” Kerry told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour.

“He will have to speak to that, as of Friday he is responsible for that relationship.”

3. Here is the full interview

It was in the context of Trump trashing Merkel, calling for the break down of the EU into "national" states. (Trump seems to advantage no one but Putin.)

Good interview - http://www.cnn.com/2017/01/16/politics/john-kerry-interview-amanpour/

Kerry does a great job - in spite of confrontational (often leading him to bash Trump) questions. Predictably his answers were diplomatic and graceful.

He kicked out the inspectors.

And it's ignorant to think all the problems in the mid east are just about iraq.

I know trumps simplistic bs is appealing to some.

14. Explain then how IWR CAUSED the Iraq War and forced Bush to invade.
Mon Jan 16, 2017, 08:22 PM

Because, had the IWR actually been followed as written, Bush should not have invaded based on the evidence weapon inspectors were turning up….or, rather, they were not finding at all.

The decision to invade despite weapon inspectors' reports that use of force would NOT be needed to disarm Iraq was made by Bush - IWR voters had reasonable expectations that weapon inspectors would influence the decision.

13. Because the thread is about Trump being criticized rightfully. You want Kerry attacked instead, then

start a thread to do it.

Attacking Kerry here on a thread dealing with Trump is a typical diversionary tactic of disruptors. If you didn't intend to be seen using that tactic, then edit your post.
