The list of musicians who are performing at Donald Trumps inauguration festivities just got even smaller.
The B Street Band, a highly regarded Bruce Springsteen cover band, has announced that it will not perform at the Garden State Presidential Inaugural Gala in New Jersey.
With deepest apologies to our fans and the New Jersey Inaugural Ball committee, the B Street Band is withdrawing from performing at this years inauguration Gala, the band said in a statement cited by Backstreets. Our decision is based SOLELY on the respect and gratitude we have for Bruce and the E Street Band.
The B Street Band performed at President Obamas inaugural celebrations in 2009 and 2013, and were asked to perform at the 2017 ceremony before they knew who the new president would be.

I wonder if they would have to pay Bruce royalties.

(11,238 posts)nothing to do with Trump anyway. They'd been hired by the NJ people, long ago, and had in fact had played at a few NJ inauguration parties before this.

written by other people. He told me that since he gave the CD to friends he did not have to pay royalties. But if he had tried to SELL them, he would. I guess that is the distinction.

(40,416 posts)Too bad Lawrence Welk is sadly gone, along with Myron Floren. Could have been an accordion duet. That really would have brought cheers to the Drumpf fans.
How wunnerful!
