Pence: Trump 'Has The Right To Defend Himself' Against Rep. John Lewis

Source: Talking Points Memo

By ESME CRIBB Published JANUARY 15, 2017, 11:15 AM EDT

Vice President-elect Mike Pence said in a Sunday interview that he was "deeply disappointed" in Georgia congressman and civil rights icon Rep. John Lewis (D) for saying that President-elect Donald Trump is not "a legitimate president."

Pence said in an interview on "Fox News Sunday" that he has "great respect" for Lewis but was "deeply disappointed" in his comments.

"I was deeply disappointed to see someone of his stature question the legitimacy of Donald Trump's election as president and say he's not attending the inauguration," Pence said. "I hope he reconsiders both positions."

Pence argued that Lewis' remarks were "an act of irresponsibility" and Trump "has the right to defend himself," according to Fox News' writeup of the interview.

Daddy shoulda used a ccondom (two, in case one broke); Momma shoulda used birth control, and kept her legs together. Both should've abstained from procreating.

Same goes for Momma and Daddy Drumpf.

And WE have the right to defend ourselves against pee-Resident-Select Drumpf. And Pence. And Ryan. And McTurdle. And their minions of evil.

Agree with him or be flamed. How the SEC doesn't indict him for what he does when he bashes a company with a tweet to his "millions" of LessEducated Lemmings...and then the shares of that company fall. OR he touts LLBean because they FUNDED his PAC or bashes Mexico and the peso falls....all this is not against SEC rules and regulations for a President Elect? Hope some smart tekkie person is watching the "insider trading" activity around tRUMP45* minions. You just know these greedy bastards are profiting by knowing and acting on THE ASTERIX pres elect.

In response to Lewis, Trump didn't defend the legitimacy of his presidency. He tried to change the subject. Mr. Pence is an useless idiot.

He simply chose to defend himself against John Lewis's statement by making a false claim driven by racism. His right to defend himself isn't an issue.

"Trump has the right to defend himself" ? Really? To defend himself against being a narcissistic, sexist, xenophobic bully who only seeks to enrich and empower himself by being president! He and his buddy, Putin, "rigged" the election and it is only a matter of time before the whole truth comes out. Kudos to John Lewis and others like him for the courage to keep the spotlight on this issue until that happens.
