Trump suggests he would be open to lifting sanctions on Russia

Source: CNN

Updated 10:59 PM ET, Fri January 13, 2017

Washington (CNN)President-elect Donald Trump suggested Friday he is open to lifting sanctions on Russia, though he plans to keep them for "at least a period of time."

He told the Wall Street Journal in an interview published Friday evening that he might do away with them if Russia helps the US battle terrorists or with other goals important to the US. The sanctions were implemented by the Obama administration last month in response to alleged Russian hacking during the election.

"If you get along and if Russia is really helping us, why would anybody have sanctions if somebody's doing some really great things?" he said in the interview.

Trump's remarks to the Wall Street Journal come after CNN reported classified documents presented to President Barack Obama and Trump included allegations that Russian operatives claim to have compromising personal and financial information about Trump. He has vehemently denied the allegations.

Donald Trump Is the World's Most Dangerous Man

Donald Trump is the leader of a new, hate-filled authoritarian movement. Nothing would be more harmful to the idea of the West and world peace than if he were to be elected president. George W. Bush's America would seem like a place of logic and reason in comparison.

Russian Ambassador Invited Trump Administration to Syria Peace Talks as US Issued Sanctions

Source: abc

Russia's ambassador to the U.S. invited the Trump administration to Syrian peace talks during a phone call in December -- on the same day the Obama administration announced sanctions against Russia in retaliation for its hacking during the U.S. election -- a Trump spokesperson said Friday.

Incoming White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak extended the invitation to the talks, which are scheduled for later this month, during a phone call with President-elect Donald Trump's incoming National Security Advisor Michael Flynn on December 29th, the day the U.S. issued sanctions and expelled 35 Russian diplomats from the country.

The Obama administration was unsuccessful in securing a seat in Syria peace negotiations during talks with Russia and other regional powers and has been excluded from the most recent rounds. The next talks about Syria are scheduled for January 23rd in Astana, Kazakhstan, three days after Trump takes office.

Spicer initially told reporters the conversation between Flynn and Kislyak only focused on arranging a phone call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and President-elect Donald Trump after the Inauguration.

He lifts sanctions, russians return to buying hugely overpriced mansions from orange assface, he makes tons of $$ and doesn't have to file BK for the 8th time.. His $$ and his "reputation" sorry as it truly is, are all he cares about. Wonder what Putin has promised him if he destroys NATO or EU? My guess is all his loans with russian banks are paid off if herr orange fuhrer accomplishes either one of the above. of course, putin also has the stick, the videos, the tapes of don the con colluding in russia stealing election to use if drumpf falters or is over-ridden by congress. Interesting times, as in nightmares unlimited, are coming.
