MTV host deletes tweets mocking Asian-American granddaughter of AG-nominee Jeff Sessions

Source: Alabama.com

An MTV host has deleted a tweet making fun of Sen. Jeff Sessions' Asian-American granddaughter.

The tweet from Ira Madison III, a host and writer for the music network, was posted this morning just as confirmation hearings for Sessions, President-elect Donald Trump's choice for Attorney General, were getting underway.

"Sessions, sir, kindly return this Asian baby to the Toys R' Us you stole her from," Madison said as television cameras captured images of a young girl sitting on Sessions' lap. He later added "There is no reason for that child to be in his lap in a hearing other than to send an 'I'm not racist message."

"In fact, Americans have long used Asian-Americans as "model minorities" since the rise of the civil rights act," he said.

Even if it is his granddaughter. How often do Senators sit in the Senate for photo ops with their grandchildren in their lap? And, Sessions just happens to be doing it during his confirmation hearing? Obviously, he's using the kid as a prop. Maybe, in his next hearing, Sessions can wear a Kangol cap and eat his lunch with chopsticks.

I'm not clever enough to come up with something now, but it could be.

The Kerry pic appears to have been taken after the hearing was over. All the seats are empty. In the Sessions pic, the seats are filled with Senators.

the first thing i thought was wtf is a little two year old doing at this hearing???

she seemed to be getting a bit restless and who in their right mind would be dragging a little kid (or ANY child for that matter) to sit still for what i thought was supposed to be an important hearing? unless he wasn't taking this seriously or his aim was to distract.

he's a jerk.

Really, for what reason was she there other than to soften his image?
