INDIANAPOLIS (AP) The Indiana Court of Appeals has rejected Vice President-elect Mike Pences assertion that state courts dont have the authority to require the release of records from his time as Indiana governor.
In its Monday ruling, the court found that Pences argument would have rendered Indianas public records law meaningless as it pertains to the governor and his staff.
The court did rule that Pences staff acted within the law when it withheld and redacted several documents that were sought by Indianapolis attorney William Groth. He sued Pence in 2015 seeking emails and documents related to Indianas participation in a successful legal challenge to President Barack Obamas immigration executive order.
The appeals court found that those documents were privileged attorney-client communications. Pences term as Indiana governor ended Monday.

(58,670 posts)He has no ideology himself, beyond self aggrandizement. He will rubber stamp every RW POS piece of legislation that gets to his desk.
Pence is no better, and may be worse. He's a true ideologue, and will push his Dominionist agenda.
Will be a long 4 years.
