Donald Trumps transition team has dismissed the top two officials who oversee and maintain the U.S. nuclear weapons arsenal.

According to a Gizmodo report, the incoming administration has told Under Secretary for Nuclear Security Frank Klotz and his deputy, Madelyn Creedon, to clear their offices by Trumps inauguration on Jan. 20.

Klotz and Creedon were appointed by President Barack Obama to lead the National Nuclear Security Administration, a $12 billion-a-year agency that maintains the safety, security and effectiveness of the nations nuclear weapons.

Political appointees traditionally turn in resignation letters effective at noon on inauguration day, but officials who serve in certain key positions are often asked to stay on until their replacements are confirmed by the U.S. Senate.

That in all likelihood represents one of the quickest and easiest paths to human extinction. It's the head of the CDC that doesn't believe in microbes that worries me.

Plus, human experimentation and cloning! ("No regulations!&quot We could have orcs emerging anyday! Don't you want to fight orcs? Of course you do!

Plus, what if nothing huge happens, just an economic brownout that slowly saps the remaining life out of the country without disturbing the shocked and awed Entertainment Consumers? Why, that's years of misery in the making.

I personally think this is all going to get better soon, plus or minus a generation. Or two.

The head of the cdc is Dr. Tom Freiden, who also has a MPH and has been there since 2009.

If you are talking about Tom Price, he will become sec of HHS, unless we can stop it.

Looks like the equally evil sibling to the American College of Pediatricians (not to be confused with the "real" one, the American Academy of Pediatricians)

Have a gander at their "journal", folks. It's...a bit scare that the head of health and human services belongs to this group.

Price (HHS nominee) is a nightmare. Dr. Freiden (CDC) appears to be the real deal.
