Lindsey Graham: Intel Agencies Investigating Whether Certain Campaigns Coordinated with Russia

Source: Mediaite

by Alex Griswold | 1:31 pm, January 8th, 2017

South Carolina Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said in an interview with NBC’s Meet the Press Sunday that he believes the U.S. intelligence community is still investigating whether one of the presidential campaigns coordinated with the Kremlin.

“Are there still active investigations going on to try to figure out if there was coordination between campaigns and Moscow?” asked host Chuck Todd.

“You asked me what should we do. We should get to bottom of all things Russia when it came to the 2016 election, period,” Graham responded. “Wherever it leads in whatever form.”

“Is that currently happening now in other investigative agencies? F.B.I., a joint task force, anything like that?” asked Todd. “Is that currently happening and we just don’t know about it?”

“I believe that it’s happening. But you need to talk to them because I don’t want to speak for them,” Graham said.

The Russians mucked up our election to get the Trump-Pence Republican team elected. The whole freaking ticket is illegitimate.

And I suspect the Republican Senate "majority" and a lot of Republican House seats are also rank, stinking, foul, and grossly illegitimate.

Tweety bird is busy appointing the most evil talking heads he can find in all of Washington and beyond to kill this country until we no longer recognize it and he will make 43 look like a kid in a sand box (which he was) and getting rid of Obama care is a non-issue. Worry my children about issues that MATTER please! Our president was just elected by a foreign government and nobody is doing anything about it. Our president plays with his telephone to make policy. Our president plans to put his children in high positions of power including the oval office. Would somebody please start worrying about something that matters????????????????

I'm so fucking scared and full of doom, I can hardly sleep.
Each revelation of intent from the 'Cabal of Coup' is worse than the day before.
I'm heartened by what McCain and Graham are doing. (I can't believe I even typed that) But I know they hate and loathe DJT's guts so that gives me some hope.
I notice McCain said he wants a Select committee to investigate but "Leadership" (fucking McConnell) is against it but he said if more comes out, that can quickly CHANGE.
AND...they are going to introduce some real 'Whoop-Ass' sanctions on Putin and hurt him even more financially.
Then the ball will really be in Traitor Don's court, eh?

I don't know how any of them could stay in power. The successor would more likely be the Speaker of the House, assuming he's got clean hands re the Russians. We really should have a whole new election, but I don't know how that would happen.

or another investigative body will find collusion between Putin and Trumpy. The intelligence community made their move, so they've committed to going down the path they're on. If they wuss out, we'll all know, and Trumpy will be even more "disparaging" toward them. He'll want them to scream uncle. He considers the CIA to be his personal enemy. If they don't shoot straight, they'll be Trumpy's whipping boy.

Friday's report already shined the light on what appears to be water carrying by Fox and right-wing media of Russian Today propaganda. Pretty simple case there. Kremlin headlines. American RW media disseminates it into American living rooms.

Then there's the Giuliani law violations where he was coordinating with members of the FBI on an active case. He's not suppose to have insider information, nor should he be allowed to seed their witch-hunt investigation with how he thinks they should be investigate.

Then there's Jame's Comey's Hatch Act violation 10-days before the election, saying there's new information to investigate, when we all know now there was not cause and no reason to bring it up, other than to sway the election in favor of dRumpf.

Election stolen by proxy. A coordinated effort on multiple fronts with the desired affect of capturing political power.

"The trail should be followed, wherever it leads."

If the Intel community finds evidence of collusion between the tRump campaign/RNC and the Kremlin, Senate Dems should demand that BOTH tRump and Pence be Impeached. I'm sorry, I'm not going to buy any ignorance defense from Pence; he had to know what was going on.

While I don't like him, I would be alright with Paul Ryan taking the seat in the Oval Office more than I would be with Pence. I would also insist Ryan commit to only completing the term, and run the presidency as an open seat again in 2020.

Otherwise, the Dems should not give the Rs the additional votes for removal and let the Rs continue to be saddled with BLOTUS.

If Republicans decide to use the information from the intelligence reports, and eventually hold hearings or even to impeach, they should not be able to invalidate Trump without invalidating Pence too.

And I surmise that would be their scheme, because the third in line of succession happens to be their little theocratic/budget-gutting wetdream, House Speaker Paul Ryan.

So while these statements by Graham and McCain all appear very statesmanlike and patriotic, putting Ryan in the White House could be their long-game here in the Game of Thrones.

Of course, I feel that the whole premise of invalidating Trump but still getting to keep Republican control of the line of succession is nuts. If Trump or both Trump/Pence are illegitimate because of TAMPERING, that means the results of the election itself are invalid including which party won - not merely which candidates won.

And if that were true, then if we had laws and election rules that made any sense (in the way we all understand fair play and team sports and competitions) then the other candidate (Clinton) would win BY DEFAULT OR DISQUALIFICATION.

But, alas, we don't have election laws that make sense in these circumstances.
