Mitt Romney Demands President Obama's Apology, Says He's Not Responsible for Post-1999 Bain Activity

Source: ABC

Mitt Romney wants President Obama to apologize for his campaign's suggestion that the Republican candidate could have broken the law by making inaccurate statements to the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Romney told ABC News' Jonathan Karl late this afternoon that Obama should clean up his campaign staff after officials coordinated an effort to imply that Romney committed a felony by saying he left Bain Capital in 1999, though The Boston Globe reported this week that Romney was listed as the company's CEO until 2002 on official files.

"The president needs to take control of these people," Romney said. "He ought to disavow it and reign in these people who are running out of control."

Romney added, "He sure as heck ought to say that he's sorry for the kinds of attacks that are coming from his team."

Romney Campaign Hits Panic Button Following Bain Attacks
The GOP presidential campaign has been reeling following increased scrutiny

By Rebekah Metzler
July 13, 2012 RSS Feed Print

Someone pushed the panic button in Boston, judging from the way Mitt Romney's presidential campaign has acted over the last 24 hours.

¬snip¬

"The Obama campaign appears to be stuck in their own 'groundhog day,' repeating the same, debunked charges they've waged for weeks," said Ryan Williams, a Romney spokesman, via E-mail.

The day even culminated with an assist from The Drudge Report, pushing a shiny object before election observers – that former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice had become a surprise vice presidential front-runner, in an attempt to change the burgeoning narrative.

¬snip¬

The Romney campaign then spent Friday going after the Obama campaign for essentially being mean when they said they wouldn't be.

he had done something wrong. The Globe issued a statement that they found no errors in the article. But this is how it works with Mitt. The Globe made no accusations either way about how to view it's reporting. They just laid out the facts as they found them and allowed the readers to decide for themselves how to view the article. It was, and still is as they update daily, a very well reported story. Mitt has of yet to comment on why his name is on the SEC documents and why he is or wasn't or maybe was the CEO still in charge after 1999. Every interview he has turned back to Obama and every reporter has allowed him to do this.

an apology for someone daring to breach the truth...\

this from a man who represents allllll the losers who
flung insults and lies at the president,
and no one, RMoney included, told them to knock it off.

All those who love the lies,
those who called Obama a socialist Kenyan,
those who dared to deny his citizenship,
those who called him an ape,
those who denigrate his family,
those who slight the president,
those who say: "YOu LIe!" in congress,
those who continue to show their ignorance and prejudice..

And their fearless leader demands an apology.

I hope the Obama WAr Room is having a good laugh.

After his attack ad calling Obama a "liar". Prove your charge Romney. Release your tax returns for 2000 and 2001 to prove your point. If your tax returns back up your claim then Obama owes an apology but it they don't you need to step down. The only way Romney can become the winner is for him to be completely transparent, otherwise people can assume he is hiding something highly damaging.

Do your work.. ask for the truth. Until Romney produces PROOF that he was not working for Bain (even though his SEC filings say otherwise,) then it's fair game.

Try as you might Romney, Obama is not apologizing to you anymore than you are apologizing for the crap you and your billion dollar henchman have said about Obama. This is not a polo match, asshole.

He must have meant something along the lines that the corporation does one thing while its founder(s) do another, and that the executive human(s) signing government documents, and the corporation representing and executing those decisions, are at least two different "people", completely unrelated. The human has no to little influence over what the paper entity or corporation does.

It's quite difficult to understand these kinds of nuances.

I have heard for a while that Mittens is fronted by the Democratic party, I have had the feeling myself when he sings the God Bless America or put down's good bakery cookies, or talks about the good organ music just before he does the deliver's the Obama-care line.

The only thing on God's Green Earth that gets to demand ANYTHING from a sitting President (and get it, and then ONLY if they have a damn good PROVABLE reason) is Congress. Mittens thinks he is expecting better room service from the colored help, or something.
Fuck him. If I were Obama, I would find a television camera and laugh in his face.

(and as far as Condi being the VP nom., bring that shit ON. All Biden will have to do is ask her during the first debate "WHAT weapons?" "WHAT mushroom cloud?"

AND they still have to get through Tampa. And we were all sad and the like 'cause we thought the Clown Car was empty (and it is), but the main act with the Starving Lions is just getting started, and the guy with the whip just so happens to be the last one out of the car.

51. Your Choice, Mittens....
Sat Jul 14, 2012, 12:38 PM
Jul 2012

If you fraudulently signed papers submitted to the SEC back in 2002, then the Obama Team is correct in stating that you committed a crime. That is pretty much cut-and-dried. If you said you were in charge of the company and you were not, then I've got a pair of handcuffs for you.

So....

The only way the Obama Team could be wrong, and the only reason for which they might need to apologize, is if the signatures you placed on those documents were correct, and you were in control of Bain Capital during the period between 1999 and 2002.

Is that what you're saying? That you really and truly were the CEO, President and Sole Shareholder of Bain Capital? That the signatures on the SEC filings were, every last one of them, accurate and appropriate? Fine.

Then let's talk about those financial disclosure statements you submitted to the Federal Elections Commissions in 2011. Come on, Mittens, a smart guy like you must remember those. You know, the ones where you stated that you relinquished your interest in Bain Capital back in 1999. And if that isn't enough, we have several miles of videotape of you during the last 24 months where you SWEAR you had nothing to do with all that nasty out-sourcing because you were no longer affiliated with the company.

Which is it going to be, sucker.

Your choice...

"p/t leave" means not "gone for a short time" it means working PART TIME!

Right now the shredders in working overtime at Bain.

If any journalist worth their salt would actually investigate, they could find out about the board meetings that Romney attended during that period. But considering Bain owns Clear Channel, and god knows what else, I can't imagine many of them will even try.

Gotta push the corporate line...

Right now a one million dollar reward from Larry Flynt to a former or current Bain staffer with the goods, would be quite welcome. lol
