Senate committee approves Oklahoman's nomination
July 13, 2012

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee has approved the nomination of a Tulsa lawyer as U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Oklahoma.

The Tulsa World (http://bit.ly/SfwZLK) reports the committee approved Danny Williams' nomination on a voice vote Thursday without discussion or objection. It's not known when the full Senate will consider the nomination.

Williams was nominated in March. The position has been vacant since David O'Meilia resigned three years ago.

Williams is a partner in the law firm Charney, Buss & Williams. He is a graduate of Dillard University and the University of Tulsa law school.
