Christmas Eve violence leaves four dead, seven wounded in North Carolina

Two separate Christmas Eve shootings left four people dead in a home and seven people wounded at a party.

The four shooting victims were killed in a Wilson County home Saturday night, a Wilson County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson confirmed to WNCN-TV.

An elderly family member identified mother Tammy Pearce and her boyfriend, Shelby Outland as victims. Also killed were Shane Pearce and his fiancée, Nikki Privette, WTVD-TV reported.

The slayings shocked neighbors and had some wondering how such violence could have occurred in their quiet neighborhood.

Guns are everywhere, and in this country it's easier to get a gun than it is to buy just about anything else. This is just another day in gun country.
