During an interview with Oprah, First Lady Michelle Obama talked a lot about the hope that propelled her husband into the presidency.
Oprah who gave a couched [link:http://www.mediaite.com/online/oprah-seeing-trump-with-obama-gave-me-hope/endorsement] to Donald Trump after he won the election because seeing him interact with President Barack Obama gave her hope asked the FLOTUS if she thought the Obama administration had truly delivered hope to the people, which led to her saying this:

See, now, were feeling what not having hope feels like I feel Barack has been that for the nation in ways that people will come to appreciate. (14,174 posts)When Obama won he brought the HOPE in bushels. We can argue just how much of that hope as defined by various segments thought he fulfilled, but yes, he brought the HOPE bigtime. It was a heady day in November, especially after the last disastrous Republican administration.
Now there is only a feeling of HOPELESSNESS and dread.

And personally I am having a very hard time to feel any hope for the future right now. Michelle Obama's point is very valid.

(34,582 posts)cannot afford a decent editor. Take this sentence, for example:
"Oprah who gave a couched to Donald Trump after he won the election"
I may be petty, but the minute I see horrible mistakes like this, I immediately dismiss the source.

It's like reliving Pearl Harbor and the republican economic crash of 2007 - 2009 all over again.
