President-elect Donald Trump compared his pre-election crowds at rallies to "wild beasts," but said his fans have mellowed out since his win.

Addressing a packed house in Hershey, Penn., Trump mused about the difference in energy between his campaign rallies and his post-election "thank you" tour.

"There's a difference between before the election and after the election. Before the election, you people are like wild beasts, wild animals ... They are screaming: 'Jail, jail, prison,' going crazy," he said Thursday night. His comment prompted some members of the crowd to start to chant "lock her up," a popular refrain during the campaign about calls to put Hillary Clinton in jail.

"Before the election, they are brutal. They are so crazed. You are like crazy people, and that's good, I like that. And now you are laid back ... You've won, you feel great about it and you don't have to go totally wild."
