Election 2016 recount: Where 5 states stand

Source: Detroit Free Press

Five states are now contending with requests for recounts of ballots cast in the Nov. 8 presidential election.

Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein is behind recount efforts in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin, states where Republican Donald Trump won narrowly over Democrat Hillary Clinton.

In Nevada, a partial recount of the race was requested by independent presidential candidate Roque De La Fuente. Clinton won in that state.

And a motion was filed Tuesday in central Florida by three voters who say that the election in Florida, which went to Trump, was marred because of hacking, malfunctioning voting machines and other problems.

Here's where each state stands Tuesday.

1. I think it's nearly impossible ..

.. to get a fair and accurate recount from states
where people are deliberately obstructing or
changing the rules of the recount.

This is totally unacceptable. I don't understand
why the justice department and FEC aren't taking
charge of these recounts.

No Reeps should be allowed near them.

the count. The US election system is seriously flawed, has been, but none want to fix it. And I don't see how a recount by many of the same is going to change a damn thing. There needs to be more clout behind this, but from my perspective TPTB remain silent.

I feel like I'm riding along on a train headed straight over the coming cliff and none pulled the emergency brake (which is broken anyway).

Rest assured however, Orlando attorney Clint Curtis will have no trouble spending the $65,000 he's raised towards the effort.

I don't expect anything to flip - frankly, I don't expect anything good to ever happen again at this point - but when I checked a few minutes ago, it was down to around 44,000 - yesterday it was 46,000 something.

Attorney and Former State House Candidate Clint Curtis announced Monday that he has filed for a recount in the Presidential contest between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

Curtis filed the lawsuit in Leon County on Friday contends that there were legal votes in the state that were improperly rejected. These include circumstances such as illegal votes that were counted, malfunctioning voting machines and Russian hacking.

9. We have to see the larger strategy

WI, MI, PA and now Florida will be recounted. The goal is twofold, first to expose fraud, hacking and other efforts to steal the election from Hillary. The second goal is to possibly deny the Presidency to trump. If these recounts can be extended up to and beyond Dec. 19th the electoral college won't be able to count their votes and trump will be denied the 270 votes needed to win e election. This is a long shot but it's our last best chance.
Regardless, these recounts serve the very important function of beginning the resistance and removal of a pResident trump, he will be seen as an illegitimate leader who lost the popular vote and denied Hillary her rightful chance at the Presidency, after all we can say nearly 3 million more Americans voted for Hillary.
