(18,124 posts)Trayvon Martin/murderer zimpigs jury set this precedent. It shall continue to be used now, more than ever.

(18,101 posts)and Zimmerman wasn't a cop. The two incidents are nothing alike.

(18,124 posts)I must have said/wrote something confusing. Maybe I shouldn't have used Trayvon in context with zimpigs jury. Sorry if I confused the issue. He wasn't a felon. Only zimpig was. And concerning Scott and the pig who killed him, MY jury is not convinced he should have died. But you are entitled to your opinion, so far its still a free speech country/society.

(21,506 posts)Glad to see they weren't pressured into a ridiculous decision. The officers did the job they were assigned to do and sadly Mr. scott died because he refused to comply and came out of his car holding a gun.
The video evidence is pretty clear, this was a no brainer the unanimous decision was the correct one. There is no doubt innocent people are killed by cops all the time this was not one of those cases.

(21,506 posts)From a surveillance cam at a minimart taken 30 minutes or so before the shooting. You can see the bulge from the ankle holster pretty clearly. Just another piece in a long list of evidence that Kieth did indeed have a gun and was holding it when shot.
Like I said before the evidence on this one is pretty straightforward this was a clear case of the cops doing their job. You can certainly argue they could have waited longer to shoot but when faced with a guy that refuses to drop his weapon I am thinking about going home to my kids if I am that cop.
The fact that people even in this thread see this like the trayvon case is appalling. There is overwhelming evidence this was a justified shooting.
Sad that he died but he would be alive today if he had only dropped the gun. Yes it is entirely possible the meds he was on made him confused and led to his decision to hold onto the gun but when faced with an armed person you know is on drugs the cops are not and should not be required to be shot to prove the guy refusing to drop the gun has no ill intent.

(1,058 posts)There's lots of cases of unambiguous police wrongdoing, but it seems weird that so many latched on to this one.

(50,279 posts)It's open carry for WHITE people. This guy was sitting in his truck, minding his own business and didn't threaten cops with the gun he apparently had. Boom. Dead anyway.
