Trump Says He's Leaving Business to Fully Focus on White House
Source: Bloomberg
President-elect Donald Trump says he intends to set aside his business interests to focus on running the country, Bloomberg News reports.
In a series of tweets on Wednesday, the President-elect wrote: I will be holding a major news conference in New York City with my children on December 15 to discuss the fact that I will be leaving my great business in total in order to fully focus on running the country in order to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
Trump added: While I am not mandated to do this under the law, I feel it is visually important, as President, to in no way have a conflict of interest with my various businesses.

Here are the four Trump tweets posted so far this morning:
great business in total in order to fully focus on running the country in order to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! While I am not mandated to
do this under the law, I feel it is visually important, as President, to in no way have a conflict of interest with my various businesses.
Hence, legal documents are being crafted which take me completely out of business operations. The Presidency is a far more important task!
This of course DOESN'T get rid of his conflicts of interest. It's just another Trump show.

(12,430 posts)It's interesting that he used that word because we know his popular vote failure is an issue for him. Headlines should read "Trump claims no mandate". That would send him over the edge.

(23,105 posts)Yeah, the freaking orange fuhrer is lying yet again, his mouth is moving, so it's totally obvious. That's why he called the Argentine president and a day later a drumpf expansion in Argentina is announced, how focused on the US is this? Nope, the whole reason he colluded with Russia to steal the election is for his own personal benefit. Everything else is a total lie. Yeah, he's going to put th screws to companies which want to move jobs overseas. Total BS. He's not fining Carrier, he's giving them sweetheart incentives which ultimately hurt taxpayers. EVerything he's done benefits him and the top 1%, that's all he cares about. During the campaign he stated he was going to increase wages, then he's elected and Americans make too much money. I truly hate everyone who voted for him, they have fucked over themselves (they deserve it) but also the majority of Americans who didn't vote for drumpf as well. Everyone will suffer except the 1% who will steal from us with abandon. Will the constitution even survive, I think that's very doubtful.

(5,810 posts)for years, it is beyond incomprehensible that he didn't think of or plan for what would happen to his business interests and the obvious conflict of interest issues they would bring. He knows exactly what he is doing, which is how he always does things. He does what he wants to do as much as possible and if there is a problem he deals with it then. In other words, better to ask for forgiveness afterward than ask for permission first.
This is all more smoke and mirrors to make us THINK he is doing the right thing. Just hide and watch to see how this all plays out. It is classic Trump and he has a long history to give us clues how he thinks and makes "deals". P.S. Guess who will get screwed?? Hint: it is not Trump.
