Trump Tweets That He's 'Seriously Considering' Carson For HUD Secretary
Source: TPM
President-elect Donald Trump tweeted on Tuesday that he is "seriously considering" nominating retired neurosurgeon and top Trump surrogate Ben Carson as head of the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
"He's a greatly talented person who loves people!" Trump wrote in the tweet, which was sent from a Twitter web client rather than the Android device associated with his most unfiltered posts.
I am seriously considering Dr. Ben Carson as the head of HUD. I've gotten to know him well--he's a greatly talented person who loves people!

Ben Carson previously turned down an open offer to accept an official role in Trump's incoming administration, according to a report published by The Hill last week.
"Dr. Carson feels he has no government experience, he's never run a federal agency, Carson ally Armstrong Williams told The Hill. The last thing he would want to do was take a position that could cripple the presidency."
Carson ran unsuccessfully for president in the 2016 GOP primary.

(517 posts)I think he's having a tough time getting anybody to agree to taking any of these positions. Nobody wants to be associated with him. Unbelievable.

(366 posts)Other than ole Gabbi "Opportunity Knocks" what's her name, has Der Gropenheimer actually considered anyone from across the aisle? Anyone who is considered a centrist even?
I mean, think back to Obama's first term and how the press hounded him to make sure he was totally being bi-partisan in all his accounts from the transition onward. And the republicans were immediately up in arms when he even mentioned a policy thought that could be seen as lacking bi-partisan support.
Fast forward eight years and the guy who didn't even win the popular vote (by a lot) doesn't even have to burden his little mind with such trifle thoughts.
Nope - no need for bi-partisanship - no reaching across the aisle to unite the country.
He's already king and emperor - and its only been 2 weeks since the election.
My god we are fucked.
