Pence doesnt rule out reviving waterboarding under Trump administration

Source: Bangor Daily News

In his first round of Sunday show interviews since the election, Vice President-elect Mike Pence did not rule out the possibility that President-elect Donald Trump would reinstate waterboarding as an interrogation technique during his administration.

On CBS Sunday, “Face the Nation” host John Dickerson brought up Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona, and his comments Saturday at the Halifax International Security Forum. At a panel discussion there, McCain vehemently insisted that any attempt to bring back waterboarding, which simulates drowning, would be quickly challenged in court, the Associated Press reported.

Dickerson pointed out to Pence that Rep. Mike Pompeo, R-Kansas, whom Trump plans to nominate as director of the CIA, supports Trump’s position that waterboarding should be reinstated.

Dickerson then played a clip of McCain’s remarks at the Halifax summit from Saturday.

'Republican Sen. John McCain issued a fiery warning to President-elect Donald Trump on the subject of torture Saturday.

“I don’t give a damn what the president of the United States wants to do. We will not waterboard,” McCain told an audience at the annual Halifax International Security Forum. “We will not torture people … It doesn’t work.”'>>>

The Trump pResidency will be characterized by:

* What, me worry?
* I don't care what the people want.
* I do what I want, when I want.
* You have a problem with that?
* Kiss my ass, I'm the pResident now.

With the people they're rolling out and Donald Trump's long history of legal troubles we should expect that to continue.

Everytime I see a crime or conspiracy to commit crime I'm going to bookmark the thread starting with this one.

I only support waterboarding if the people approve it for use are subjected to it daily as a reminder of what it really is.
