Clinton: 'Dignity And Respect For Women And Girls' Are On The Ballot, Too

Source: Talking Points Memo

Striking directly at Donald Trump's misogyny, Hillary Clinton debuted a new line in her stump speech Wednesday in a joint appearance with Michelle Obama.

"I wish I didn't have to say this," Clinton said in a speech at an early voting rally in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. "But indeed, dignity and respect for women and girls is also on the ballot in this election."

She went on to thank Michelle Obama for her speech decrying Donald Trump's predatory comments about women.

"Maybe it's especially meaningful to me because I do know something about being first lady of the United States," Clinton said. "And let's be real, as our first African-American first lady, she's faced pressures I never did." She said that the Michelle Obama has filled that role with "pure grace."

that line, "Dignity And Respect For Women And Girls' Are On The Ballot, Too", made me pause and look up! I thought about it during the applause it brought to the arena. And then she went on to say, "I wish I didn't have to say this, but indeed, dignity and respect for women and girls is also on the ballot in this election." Exactly what I was thinking. Indeed.
