Donald Trump on Thursday attacked a former People Magazine reporter who alleged Trump forcibly kissed her while she was reporting at his Mar-a-Lago estate in 2005, implying that he could not have forced himself on her because he was not attracted to her.

"She's doing the story on Melania, who is pregnant at the time, and Donald Trump and our one year are anniversary," Trump said at a rally in West Palm Beach, Florida. "And said I made inappropriate advances, and by the way, it was a public area and people all over the place."

"Take a look. You take a look. Look at her. And look at her words," Trump said. "And you tell me what you think. I don't think so. I don't think so."

Former People writer Natasha Stoynoff published a first-person account Wednesday of a reporting trip she took to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate to interview Trump and his wife Melania on their first wedding anniversary. Stoynoff recalled how, when Melania went upstairs to change outfits, Donald Trump accompanied her to a room, pushed her against a wall, and forcibly kissed her. Stoynoff described Trump as “a looming figure."

On Wednesday evening, numerous women stepped forward to accuse Donald Trump of sexual assault. As ThinkProgress previously documented, the allegations track closely with Trump’s description of how he treats women in a secretly recorded 2005 video released last Friday.

“You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful… I just start kissing them,” Trump said in the video. “It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star they let you do it. You can do anything.” (The most infamous line from the video comes a bit later, when Trump says, “Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything.”)

During a speech in Florida on Thursday, Trump denied the allegations and smeared his accusers. Part of his defense involved suggesting the women aren’t sufficiently attractive for him to sexually assault by imploring listeners to “take a look” at them.

“These events never, ever happened, and the people that said them, meekly, fully understand,” Trump said. “You take a look at these people, you study these people, and you’ll understand also.”

I cannot imagine a worse and more self-damaging response from Trump.

Furthermore:

- "looks" have nothing to do with sexual assault, as stated.

- even though this is irrelevant, as others have pointed out, she appears to be an attractive woman. But as I stated, this is hardly germane the issue in anyway.

- most importantly, I am increasingly feeling that as whiite male... I am intruding on a subject that I'm certain ALL the women on this forum and elsewhere will be involved in. So "man-splaining" from me is the last thing needed.

He didn't necessarily deny that he would do something like that, just that she's not attractive enough to be worthy of being molested by His Trumpness.
