RNC TV ad spending for Trump: $0
Source: Politico
A POLITICO analysis of campaign finance records reveals that the committee has not spent anything on commercials boosting Trump since he emerged as the partys likely nominee.
Thats a stark departure from recent elections. In 2008 and 2012, the RNC spent tens of millions of dollars on so-called independent expenditures principally TV ads, but also direct mail and phone banks supporting its nominees or attacking their Democratic rivals.
The lack of air cover has prompted grumbling from Trump aides and allies, many of whom believe that the RNC was never fully supportive of their candidate and that its now turning its back completely on the anti-establishment nominee as his poll numbers crater.

Well, Republicans always did claim to be against spending...

I foresee the GOP fracturing, the result of the right-wing hate-speech they've used to secure votes from suckers for years.

(14,174 posts)Spend it all on "Evil Hillary" ads on down ticket races. They will be stressing the SCOTUS picks and the "gay agenda" and the predicted abolishment of the 2nd amendment under Hillary. They don't win the Presidency, but do not really lose anything at all if this works. They'll have a Democratic President that will be hog-tied and can give the same rude treatment as her predecessor. And then blame her for the gridlock because she just refuses to compromise (ie. give the GOP everything they want).
Holding the House, and maybe even the Senate as well would be a great close second place award for them.

(129,124 posts)The media has given Drumpf the equivalent of at least $3 BILLION in free advertisement, and that was as of this past May. And this doesn't include his Rick-rolling them by their allowing him to continually advertise his new hotel in D.C. (in the old post office building).

(23,117 posts)There are 3 anti-HRC ads and 2 pro-Trump ads running now. 2 of them were shown for the first time within the last week or so. HRC's ads have gone way way down here as his have risen.
