U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump has issued an apology for his country’s decision to bomb Serbia during Bill Clinton’s tenure at the White House.

U.S. and NATO allies launched aerial campaigns against the faltering Yugoslav regime, targeting ethnic Serb troops in 1995 and 1999. The first attack was carried out in support of groups in Bosnia and Herzegovina, seeking independence from Belgrade, while the second was in support of similar forces in Kosovo.

"The bombing of Serbs, who were our allies in both world wars, was a big mistake,” Trump told Serbian weekly magazine Nedeljnik. “Serbians are very good people. Unfortunately, the Clinton administration caused them a lot of harm, but also throughout the Balkans, which they made a mess out of."

that purported to show Prez O and the French Prez looking at a young lady's rear as they descended a staircase and she was going up. The uncropped photo showed he was looking at and helping an older woman down the stairs.

But they really got worked up about a Prez looking at a woman, like that. That kind of thing really runs counter to the deeply held values they have, values they feel the need to loudly and forcefully espouse, constantly.

Funny how the same crowd is now wildly backing the orange drumpfensnatcher for prez, now.

Dei, and the West. Poppy bush's fault. The Croatian Ustasi were always a pawn of far right interests both in the US and Germany. Never a friend of the Democrats. I don't know how closely aligned the current Serb leadership is with Putin, I heard Czech & Slovak ian leaders may be with Putin.

But the threat to pull out of NATO is definitely not going to play well with all the far rightie repug national Heritage Group members who have Balkan, East European, or Baltic countries with borders that are contiguous with Putin's Russia. So that sort of offsets any 'far right Serbian-American voter' gains tRump is hoping to make with his "sorry the US sucks" apology tour.

Of course Trump is not the right man to talk about this, since his knowledge as usual is missing. But there are lots of good reason for why Clintons bombs were a stupid way to help in that conflict. He was not all that sure himself then and discretely switched his old arguments for new ones in a few months.

Before the bombs were dropped on Yugoslavia, Bill Clinton said on March 24 1999 that:
"Our strikes have three objectives:
First, to demonstrate the seriousness of NATO's opposition to aggression and its support for peace.
Second, to deter President Milosevic from continuing and escalating his attacks on helpless civilians by imposing a price for those attacks.
And third, if necessary, to damage Serbia's capacity to wage war against Kosovo in the future by seriously diminishing its military capabilities."

After the bombs were thrown, Bill Clinton said at June 10 1999 that:
"From the beginning, we had three clear objectives:
The withdrawal of Serb forces.
The deployment of an international security force with NATO at the core.
The return of the Kosovars to their home to live in security and self-government."

When Bill Clinton after the war repeats the reasons from before the war, he remembers them suddenly completely different. And no one asked him about this, which is a bit more interesting than all that stuff about his old female friends.
