Donald Trump is ‘a revolting slug’: Australian state parliament

Sydney (dpa) - US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is a "revolting slug unfit for public office," the upper house of Australia's New South Wales parliament unanimously agreed on Thursday.

Jeremy Buckingham, a senator with the minority Greens Party, tabled a motion to the state upper house condemning "mysogynistic, hateful comments" Trump made about women and minorities.

The motion - which was passed without any objection - called out "the divisive, destructive impact of hate speech from political candidates," saying "the house agrees with those who have described Mr Trump as a revolting slug unfit for public office." The upper house president, Don Harwin¿, allowed the motion after confirming that the term "revolting slug" did not amount to unparliamentary language.

Trump has come under a barrage of attack in recent days with allegations of sexually improper behaviour.
