Giuliani slams Clinton for not being in NYC on 9/11
Source: The Hill
Rudy Giuliani told supporters at a Donald Trump campaign rally on Wednesday that he didn't recall seeing Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in New York City on 9/11.
"Yes, you helped to get benefits for the people that were injured that day," the former New York City mayor said to an approving crowd. "But I heard her say one day she was there that day. I was there that day. I dont remember seeing Hillary Clinton there."
Clinton, a senator representing New York at the time, was in Washington, D.C., on Sept. 11, 2001, the day terrorists attacked New York City and the Pentagon.
She traveled to New York City a day later and visited the site of the attacks on the Twin Towers.

Other than Drumpf himself, I'm not sure anyone has done more harm to his or her self image than this asswipe, and he was an asswipe before any of this even got started.
Every time I see his name, I instantly flash back to the 08 convention when he laughed at Obama for being a community organizer. What an idiot! HELPING POOR PEOPLE! BAH!

And those that are pumped so full of adrenalin and drooling at the prospects of heir Drumpf bestowing powerful federal offices for them to command for him under his Presidency..(even though they say they hate government), that they will swallow everything and then hold it in long enough to do a string of damage control press interviews the next day.

Here's an interesting comparison of what Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump did and said that fateful day. (As usual, Trump seemed obsessed with size. Clinton with the need to respond in a measured, intelligent way.)

That they didn't target the Capitol instead of the pentagon is still a mystery to me

(6,865 posts)either the White House or Congress.
The trajectory after it turned around placed it as heading towards that area. The distance between the White House and Congress is just slightly more than a mile, or 4 city blocks.
12 city blocks is usually a mile.
4lbs
(6,865 posts)street widths in between the blocks.
I live about 0.92 miles from my old high school. There are four streets in between.
I stand corrected. Pretty much everywhere else a mile is 12 city blocks. It's a runners way of measurement.
4lbs
(6,865 posts)In Southern California, city blocks are very rectangular, so there is a very long side and a short side.
The short side, it just might be that 12 can fit in a mile.
The long side though, is definitely about 1/4 mile.
So, I would venture that we are both correct.

(12,595 posts)Bigger target, more symbolic, harder to miss (a big white target), more difficult to rebuild. I think the Pentagon was hit because the pilot didn't know how to make a descending turn.
Doesn't diminish the actual damage and tragic loss of life, though.

(57,631 posts)was on a flight path that would have taken it to the Capitol in another 60 seconds. The Pentagon couldn't be more than about three miles from the Capitol.
Flight 77's path over northern Virginia, which I used to be able to find on the web (I'll look), had it coming into the Pentagon from the west-southwest. It was flying east over Arlington County's Columbia Pike, Route 244 on the map. How it cleared the Sheraton at Washington Boulevard I'll never know.
Route 7 is King Street in Alexandria. Route 402 is Quaker Lane. Alexandria's T.C. Williams High School is approximately at the intersection of King Street and Quaker Lane (give or take). Flight 77 flew east-southeast directly over T.C. Williams before turning about 270 degrees to the right. One of my neighbors was a senior there, and he said that the kids saw the plane fly over. It must have been unusually low.
Here's the path, from Wikipedia. It was taken from the NTSB report.

Barring that, there's the small matter that the FAA ordered every commercial flight out of the skies.**
Not that that matters.
* Kids, before there were smartphones, and even before there were Palm PDAs, there was this: Franklin Planner. They used to be called Day Runners.
** and general aviation too. To be correct, I should say non-military flights.

(24,720 posts)because your F***ing appointed president who was reading My Pet Goat in Florida looked like he had deer head eyes looking in a car lights at night, when he was informed in the children's class room and that old S**t look, and dismissed the intelligence briefings in August, while we in the aviation business saw things, because we were told to be vigilant at our level, and to report things, we did.
The next day after I pushed off the Flt 93 Aircraft (B757) that morning on 9/11, and when I came back into work that night I can still remember seeing the smoke and emptiness, while your right wing hypocrite said that there there thousands of Muslims over in New Jersey laughing, and he could see them, FU, I worked with three Muslims at the Liberty New Jersey Airport and they were not laughing and I considered them good friends, yesterday and today.
My wife's sister was near the pentagon and watched the B757 crash into the pentagon and one of her fellow workers at USAir at the time saw it happen
