Trump calls first debate moderator a Democrat; records show otherwise
Source: Reuters
Republican Donald Trump may have gotten it wrong when he said the moderator of the first U.S. presidential debate next week between him and his Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton, is a Democrat.
NBC's Lester Holt, who will moderate the debate on Monday, is registered as a Republican, according to voter information on the New York State Board of Elections website. NBC did not respond to requests for comment on Tuesday about Holt's party affiliation.

"Look, it's a phony system. Lester is a Democrat. I mean, they are all Democrats. OK? It's a very unfair system," Trump said on the show.
Bill O'Reilly, the Fox News host conducting the interview, said two other debate moderators, ABC's Martha Raddatz and CNN's Anderson Cooper, were also Democrats. Cooper is registered in New York with no party affiliation, according to the state elections site, which CNN confirmed. ABC did not respond to a request for comment about Raddatz's registration.

If anything, Hillary should be complaining about the lack of Democrats moderating the debate.

(28,017 posts)It is called poisoning the waters in advance. He is a master of it, and frankly, the Clinton campaign better respond in a smart way, or else.
Or else, you may ask?
Y E S !
This guy is already cutting the legs out from the Clinton campaign in advance of the debate, and they are silent. Shocked. Surprised. But the key is S I L E N T . And that is deadly, in this environment.
That is absolutely the most inept response to his effort to sway the debates in advance. Come on Team Hillary, think about the big picture. Get off your asses and respond. But in a smart way that rocks that conman on his ass.
Yet again, the Clinton campaign seems unprepared on how to deal with him.

(17,390 posts)I am not sure why there is this stereotype that Alpha Male Trump is more aggressive in attacking Hillary, then the other way around. Of course, Hillary does not say outrageous reality defying lies, but I think that is a good thing.

An analysis conducted by a trio of researchers at Sam Houston State University in Texas has found some interesting wrinkles in how Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump use Twitter.
Political Science Professor Dr. Heather Evans and her team collected the nearly 800 tweets sent out during the month of June by both Clinton, the Democratic presidential nominee, and Trump, a Republican. While Trump is famous for his ceaseless outpouring of social media insults, Clinton was actually more likely to attack Trump than Trump was to attack Clinton during that month. Thirty-four percent of Clinton's tweets criticized Trump, whereas only 22 percent of Trump's tweets directly slammed Clinton.
Clinton was also significantly more likely than her general election opponent to talk about political issues, researchers found. While only 9 percent of Trump's tweets dealt with policy questions, 27 percent of Clinton's tweets were about policy.
Evans, whose work has long focused on how gender affects online political communication, divided policy issues into two categories: stereotypically male and stereotypically female. When we look at the specific issues mentioned through a key word search, Hillary Clinton discussed female issues in approximately 14 percent of her tweets, compared to only 2 percent for Donald Trump, Evans wrote. Clintons tweets over the past month mentioned the LGBT community, womens access to reproductive services, education, and healthcare. Out of the six tweets Donald Trump sent that fell into this category, five mentioned the word women or LGBT and were attacks against Hillary Clinton. The sixth tweet mentioned Obamacare.

is creating anxiety at this point.

(21,769 posts)Someone needs to be looking into this. How do we know Holt is not Obama's "fellow traveler"? A Kenyan or whatever put in place decades ago in "deep cover" waiting for precisely this moment in history to infiltrate our political system and rig our elective process?
I mean, c'mon, what church does he go to? Does he "pray to the east"? Why is the liberal press giving Holt cover on this?
Skittles. Benghazi. Clinton Foundation. Travel Office. Rose Law Firm. Vince Foster. Does Holt know Paula Jones, and what exactly is his relationship with her?
The MSM is totally in bed with the corrupt Clinton machine, and every American knows it.
