Nation's largest police union endorses Trump
Source: The Hill
The nation's largest police union on Friday endorsed Donald Trump for president, lauding his commitment to police officers.
The Fraternal Order of Police gave the GOP presidential nominee its endorsement after he received support from more than two-thirds of the group's national board.
" Trump) has seriously looked at the issues facing law enforcement today. He understands and supports our priorities and our members believe he will make America safe again," said Chuck Canterbury, the FOP's national president.
"He's made a real commitment to America's law enforcement and we're proud to make a commitment to him and his campaign by endorsing his candidacy today."

If anyone has any questions about the status of policing in this country (and how horrible it is for minorities), they can look no further than this tacit endorsement by the Fraternal Order of Police for a known demagogue, racist, sexist, and xenophobe - Donald Trump.

There are about 1.1 millions persons employed on a full time basis by PDs. The frat-boys would then represent 30% of the force.
Among these, there are 765.000 sworn personnel (cops with arresting power). The frat-boys would then represent 43% of the force. Maybe less if you count the part-timers.
That's about the proportion of the pig's voters.
As soon as the rest of them step up and denounce this support of a fascist, racist, bigot, who hates women and wants to screw his own daughter...then I'll put this in perspective!
Besides 30% is not a small number, especially when they wear badges and carry guns!!!

(15,882 posts)"There are about 33 million self-professed Baptists in the United States, making them the second largest religious grouping in the US, following the 79 million Roman Catholics. About 16 million Baptists belong to congregations affiliated with Southern Baptist Convention, the largest such confederation of Baptists. "

Only about 16 million southern baptists, but that set contains the most avowedly racist "Christians" we have, with the same negative view toward race as much of the country. They just differ in behavior and their willingness to acknowledge it. (My experience of growing up amongst my neighbors.).
You don't have to have a large group to be perfectly representative.

(347 posts)30% of whom actively support the pig. Are these 30% "perfectly representative" of the group called "Hispanics"?
The deplorable lives in a 2 dimension world, without perspective. Do we want to live in the same world?

(15,882 posts)a waste of time. We could talk about the point that the size of the group makes no difference as demonstrated, but it seems the argument is now more important to others, and just ignored by some. Typical.
Btw - using the term "deplorable" is now serving to depress the vote, and being used as a badge of honor by the opposition. Most of the folks that are truly on this side have moved on.
That's what I am gonna do now.

I, like many of my close friends, are voting for Hillary. It is about the Supreme Court appointments, gay and lesbian rights, women's rights, the rights of people of color and the fear that our position in this world will be forever harmed if Trump is elected. Please believe that the FOP does not speak for the majority...

And for the folks saying they'll never donate again, I ask what the hell did you donate for in the first place? What other "unions" ask for outside donations? If they did the FOP would always have been just about last on my list.
