Trump: Iranian boats that make improper ‘gestures’ will be ‘shot out of the water’

Source: Washington Post

As Trump shared his plans to dramatically grow the "depleted military" and grow the number of Navy ships to 350, he brought up Iran, a country he has frequently said takes advantage of the United States' generosity.

"And, by the way, with Iran, when they circle our beautiful destroyers with their little boats, and they make gestures at our people, that they shouldn't be allowed to make, they will be shot out of the water," Trump said to thunderous applause. Soon the crowd began to chant: "USA! USA! USA!"

* * *

Later in the rally, Trump said that Clinton could not be trusted to make clear-headed military decisions.

"Her policies have produced only death, destruction and not diplomacy," Trump said. "She's trigger-happy, and now she's trying to say like she's this — let me tell you, folks, personally? Personally? I think she's an unstable person. Okay? She is trigger-happy."

with many important abilities missing. He's always been this way. Gary Trudeau's just published a book of 30 years of Trump cartoons--30 years because he's been pushing himself into the NY spotlight for over that long, and he was the same buffoon then as now. Trudeau on how Trump became a cartoon strip character:

GARRY TRUDEAU: He became a character in response, a kind of prophylactic response, to his series of ads that he took out in The Boston Globe and The Washington Post and The New York Times, in which we learned for the first time that the rest of the world was laughing at us. And there were a few trial balloons that went up along with that from other—others of his friends, and I thought, "Wow! I have to respond to that, because we’ve been living in this city with this guy for 10 years. His grandiosity is just over the top, and this is laughable." And so I just put him in the strip.

And it was an early transfer—easy transfer. He wasn’t a parody exactly; he was really more like a natural born toon. I just took him out of the box, removed the tags and put him right into the strip. And I think he’s—you know, he’s like a version of Daffy Duck, I mean, in terms of his appearance, the silly way in which he talks, the over-the-top self-regard. All these things just made him a perfect cartoon character. And so, I just had him interact with the other characters as a peer, and they interact with him as just a, you know, comic strip colleague. And I didn’t have to make any adjustments. I would take the things he said and reframe them in a way, you know, to maximize the satiric purpose of it, but I didn’t have to do much in terms of exaggerating, the way you normally do in a parody. ...

AMY GOODMAN: I want to go to 1999. You have a cartoon with Donald Trump saying, quote, "A lot of people have been asking what this election is really about. Well, it’s not about the economy, stupid! And it’s not character, stupid! And it’s not authenticity, stupid! It’s not even about the issues, stupid! You want to know what this election is about?" Someone then says, "You, stupid?" Trump replies, "Exactly! People are begging me to run! Begging me!"

GARRY TRUDEAU: Oh, they’re always begging him, and there are always hundreds of calls. And what’s astonishing is these things are obviously made up. But what’s most astonishing about his lack of truth is that he wheels it out for the most banal and trivial of reasons. I was talking to a crew member on CNN who said he was in his office setting up a camera—this was a while back—and he overheard Trump talking to his daughter in the outer office. And he said, "Well, there are five cameras in my office." And he said, "Five? There was one. I was setting up one camera." Why lie to your daughter about how many cameras in your—I mean, the most, you know, insignificant things get lied about, and right up to last night, when he was imagining a video he never saw.

I'll try to keep stop posting this same comment five times a day for the next two months every time he says something that in a just society would have him getting destroyed in the polls. I've come to the conclusion that nothing he says or does will prevent at least 40% of the voting population casting a ballot for him.

Sail about 30 or 40 tankers into the Straits and sink them in the shipping channels.

That will be the end of traffic through the Straits.

The way he repeats words and phrases multiple times. If anyone were to play a drinking game of the number of times he's said "believe me" and "by the way", they'd be dead by now.

I like that "okay?" he threw in after calling Clinton an unstable person, as if he's desperately trying to convince even himself that his bullshit is true.

Trump is currently down with Kim Jong-un in the "completely fucking nuts" category. If someone wrote that Kim had praised his "beautiful destroyers", and talked about his enemies' "little boats" and blowing them out the water for making "gestures", and then said it's his enemies who "have produced only death, destruction and not diplomacy", and are "trigger-happy" and "unstable", no one would be surprised. That's how the North Korean dictator rolls.

Trump wants to look less like Kim, so he praises Putin, the authoritarian who still kills his opponents and enriches his cronies, as Trump wants to, but does not have identifiable mental illnesses, unlike Kim and Trump.

Think there's a good chance hed be taken out prior to assuming the office. That only stops the suicidal things, but it leaves Pence in charge and he's a teahadist through and through, so we wouldn't be all tht much better off. Of course, this is just one of my nightmares, in reality unless russia and our msm steals the election for him, he can't win.
