Trump slams Colin Kaepernick: ‘Maybe he should find a country that works better for him’

Donald Trump sharply criticized San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick on Monday for refusing to stand for the national anthem, telling a radio host it's a "terrible thing."

"Maybe he should find a country that works better for him. Let him try. It won’t happen," said the Republican presidential nominee, who spoke to conservative show host Dori Monson on KIRO radio in Seattle ahead of his Tuesday trip to the region for a fundraiser and rally.

Kaepernick, who has been highly critical of both Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton, has drawn national scrutiny for his decision to sit during the national anthem before games as a form of protest against what he sees as injustices across the country, including police treatment of civilians.

"I mean, ultimately it’s to bring awareness and make people realize what’s really going on in this country. There are a lot of things that are going on that are unjust, people aren’t being held accountable for, and that’s something that needs to change," he said Sunday, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

Yeah! The only people who get to trash the USA are Trump and his followers! Next time, Colin needs to trash the USA at the Republican National Convention where it is appropriate to describe our nation as a hell on earth.

Trump keeps stirring the pot then wonders why David Duke has endorsed him and Colin Kaepernick chooses a misguided response. You see it in other ways too, such as the fights that are now common place at Trump rallies (media no longer reports on them). Trump sees all of these actions as winning the political battle -- it's what the Law and Order campaign is all about. And he thinks enough fools will fall for it. This Trump tirade is just Trumps latest blast -- why didn't he just say it, love it or leave it because that is the clear intent -- and straight out of the Nixon playbook; a playbook he is now using regularly. But we know how that all ended. Apparently Trump has not read the last chapter.

back during my early years in grade school / high school, the entire student body, we, had to go out everyday and sing the "national anthem" well one day we put it to the words of Mickey Mouse, because the entire student body thought it was stupid, and to this day I still think its stupid, I look at this "song" through the eyes of what my Cherokee mother taught me about this "song". The glorification of Manifest Destiny and the Doctrine of Discovery

I just wonder how many of these patriot(s) people would actually read what this national song and what it says, Francis Scott Keys was a bigot, he wrote this song during a war and his family was heavily involved in slavery and other acts against the Native American people.

Then on the other side the right wingers and all of these "other patriot(s) are up in arms that a quarterback (a man) sat through the National Anthem, his constitutional right to protest, (look no further than what a player from the Vikings Boone said---------really), he's Colin Kaepernick is just as mad about something that is important to him and thousands of others in this country, and the MSM is trying to make as much moola off this as they can.

It never occurred to them that while this man was playing in Levi Stadium, that used taxpayer money to build that stadium, this corporation outsourced all of its manufacturing base, off shored over 100 million dollars and hasn't paid the 39.9 million in taxes it owes out of that 100 million to the very people that helped build it , and they whine about patriotism -------------------what am I missing here--------------how much did Levi Stadium pay for deploying people into combat, and how much did Levi Stadium pay in making the streets safer from gun violence, how many commercials or outreach programs have they instituted--------------how many?

Do you think they said anything like this site says every 72 hours about gun deaths:

http://www.gunviolencearchive.org/

----------------nope

Honestly, many people out there including folks here might not agree with what Colin Kaepatrick is doing or might agree about his message but not how he is getting notice (ie not standing for the anthem). But what think I know most of us agree about - that we live in a great country where if Colin Kaepatrick wants to protest by not standing for the National Anthem then he has that right to do just that.
