Man sentenced to 40 years for pouring boiling water on gay couple

Source: Atlanta Journal Constitution

The man who poured boiling water on a same-sex couple because he didn’t approve of the relationship was sentenced to 40 years in prison Wednesday afternoon.

Martin Blackwell, 48, was found guilty on all 10 counts, including aggravated assault and aggravated battery.

The jury deliberated about 90 minutes Wednesday afternoon before announcing the verdict.

In closing arguments, Blackwell’s attorney argued he wasn’t being hateful or malicious when he poured boiling water on a same-sex couple as they slept.

First, Georgia's state penitentiaries do not offer good behavior credits. Second, assault and battery are both among 20 crimes that require a prisoner to serve 90% of their sentence before being eligible for parole. Third, the Parole Board may disregard the second point I made once the prisoner turns 62 years in age.

If the victims oppose Martin Blackwell's parole when he turns 62, I have a hunch the Parole Board will take a dim view on him.

Frat boy rapists get off with slaps on the wrist. Banksters never even have a law enforcement interview. Meanwhile low level MJ sellers get pounded for major time. And African Americans receive death sentences for being black without permission.

they had to discuss (deliberate) each and every one in case they chose not to convict on 1 or more of the 10.

How do people get so fixated with lives of others they say they prefer to avoid. Wouldn't you just avoid them?

Those that hate gays with such passion are usually afraid of their own urges.
