Three Republican Louisiana lawmakers who sought flood aid voted against Hurricane Sandy disaster rel

Source: NY Daily News

A trio of GOP Louisiana pols who showed little sympathy when they refused to vote in favor of funding for the Sandy-ravaged Northeast have asked for similar relief for the flooding that’s brutalized their state.

At least 13 people have died in the catastrophic Louisiana floods and some 60,000 homes have been damaged in what the Red Cross is calling the worst natural disaster to strike the country since Superstorm Sandy in 2012.

Three Louisiana lawmakers — Reps. Steve Scalise, John Flemming and Sen. Bill Cassidy — were able to get much needed relief from the federal government when President Obama declared a disaster in their state the same day they made a request.

That federal money will go towards grants for temporary housing, home repairs and low-cost loans to cover uninsured property loss, among other dire needs.

now this has expanded. For a Congressional member from Louisiana to vote against storm relief shows they are not fit to hold their position. It is crazy, and it does not only apply to those from Louisiana who voted against Sandy Relief, it comes home to them. These "Christian" congressional members needs to get their act together and realize these disasters is not from the doing of the citizens of the US

was the "new" liberal party at the time of Lincoln, Dems were the states' rights conservatives. Ideologies switched slowly after the collapse of the Whig party which was split on the issue of slavery.

It is actually CONSERVATIVES, not just Republicans, who have been WRONG coming around nearly every corner of history.

Those mother f****rs met on the night of President Obama's inauguration in 2009
and plotted to stop and block everything that he would try to do in order to hurt the
American people so they would vote against him in 2010 and 2012.

This is typical. Vote against disaster funding, then scream bloody blue murder that the government isn't doing enough when it's in your own back yard.
