Trump should change tack or drop out: Wall Street Journal
Source: Reuters
Republican Donald Trump should fix his stumbling White House campaign by Labor Day or step down, The Wall Street Journal said on Monday in a sharply worded warning from a leading conservative voice.
"Mr. Trump has alienated his party and he isn't running a competent campaign," the newspaper said in an editorial.
The paper's editorial board, which generally favors Republicans, has been critical of Trump but its warning on Monday was its strongest attack yet and echoed growing anxiety among many Republicans over the state of Trump's campaign.
"If they cant get Mr. Trump to change his act by Labor Day, the GOP will have no choice but to write off the nominee as hopeless and focus on salvaging the Senate and House and other down-ballot races," it said.

I never thought Trump was 'In it to win it'. It was all just to keep his name in the headlines.

(115,733 posts)is that the Trump campaign is being poorly run - not that Trump is a completely horrible candidate. I think they'd be just fine with an ignorant, bigoted, unstable asscarrot like Trump winning the presidency as long as said asscarrot is a GOPer. They're just pissed that his campaign is a trainwreck and he's going to lose, not that he, as a candidate and a human being, sucks hard enough to bend light in the first place.

(10,857 posts)As I once saw from the inside, the WSJ editorial board doesn't even consider placing a piece on its editorial page without first class tickets to a five-star weekend, and probably one hell of a lot of covert bribery as well. In return, they never retract or disavow their propaganda, once published.
Even if this article were in their own naked self-interest--and it is, of course--they wouldn't have published it without lavish spending from, "a leading conservative voice." My money would be on Mitt Romney, still scheming to find a way into the White House without anyone actually having to vote for him.

After all, tomorrow is another day! And remember, It was better to know the worst than to wonder. Today we need leaders who are more than an empty suit.
Afterall, Burdens are for shoulders strong enough to carry them. We know, "You aren't helpless. Anyone as selfish and determined as you are is never helpless." Look at the bright side all you so called conservative scalawags, Until you've lost your reputation, you never realize what a burden it was or what freedom really is.
And if you don't, My dear, I don't give a damn.

(16,189 posts)office. Every single one. When the Dems win in landslides around the country, we must keep the heat on them to change this country to one that works for the poor and middle class. Job creation, public health care, bolster unions, and equal rights for all. End corporate prisons and legalize marijuana and possibly all drugs.
