Hillary Clinton: ‘No, Barack Obama is Not the Founder of ISIS’
Source: Mediaite
Because the insanity of the 2016 election requires it, Hillary Clinton put out a series of tweets Thursday afternoon addressing Donald Trumps latest slams saying that she and President Obama were the founders of ISIS.

@HillaryClinton
It can be difficult to muster outrage as frequently as Donald Trump should cause it, but his smear against President Obama requires it.

(111,277 posts)because he oversaw their idiotic "de-Baathifcation program" that eliminated well trained soldiers and officers from the military and replaced them with any yahoo looking for work, leaving those well trained military men with little to do and no income.
That's the bunch who created them because of their hamfisted mismanagement and stupid dogma that said any nominally socialist party had to be bad just because of the name.
Those fucking morons are responsible for every terrorist murder around the world by somebody who claims allegiance to DAESH.

(5,902 posts)De-Baathification, combined with Shiite patronage and Shock Doctrine policies that basically killed off most job opportunities for young people, pretty much shredded Iraq's social fabric and created fertile ground for whatever extremist could fill the vacuum.
If even a semblance of law and order can ever be restored in this world of ours, the Nürnberg trials would look like a rural courthouse compared the sheer number of culprits and charges to be tried.
Someday, right?

(430 posts)Scripps-Howard stations ran a piece on their to-day's NOW, where Trump says his B***S***, and their focus is that it has been said earlier by other Republicans (including McCain). This giving the impression that this is truthful, by not saying (or have anyone saying) that ISIS was formed in 1999, and Obama began his presidency in 2009. Only in science fiction does future events cause prior ones, well and when Republicans speak.

(35,320 posts)And it conducted some terrorist activities and apparently operated in Iraq prior to 2003.
In 2004 it became al-Qa'ida in Iraq, and in 2006 the Islamic State.
On the right, they don't like it before it became ISIL. On the left, they don't like that it preceded the Iraq War, because then the organization was (as claimed upstream) essentially 'founded' by Bremer or some Bushie. But 1999? Too early for political point-taking.
Granted, 1999 it was a Jordan-only activity. It expanded a couple of years later. It was part of what was wrong in the media blitz--Zarqawi was active in Iraq and later pledged allegiance to bin Ladin's little coterie of fools, but Saddam Hussein had no known links and showed no support for him. However, given Saddam's grip on the country, that he operated there for a year or two and was apparently treated in a Baghdad hospital either means the links were simply well disguised or Saddam didn't have the iron grip everybody thought (and still thinks) he had. Or Zarqawi's network was very, very good and keeping secrets.

(4,113 posts)thanks to his lie-driven invasion of Iraq.
This is how insane our POTUS campaigns have become. Any other time, if a Donald Trump said anything this outlandish, there would be no need for Hillary to address it. But, thanks to 25 years of Faux Snooze and RW talk radio, we have a sizable population of people who are totally politically ignorant. And the media are too happy to spread the BS from Trump and give it credibility it doesn't deserve.

(45,457 posts)What happens when you get rid of government, taxes, regulations, law and order, etc. is murderers and rapists decide they are going take charge of things. You don't just destroy a country's government without a solid responsible plan to rebuild a new system of government to replace it.
If you can't be bothered to build a new country, then it's best to just stay out of it. ISIS is way worse to the Iraqi people AND American people than that bad man Saddam ever was.
Just giving suitcases full of cash to Bush and Dick's buddies would have been a better outcome than the death and destruction of the Iraq war. Reagan's and Bush's idiotic and purely evil blunders in the middle east have screwed us all for generations to come. The people who will continue to feel the negative results of their foreign policy still haven't been born yet.
