Mike Pence Hints at Trump’s Muslim Ban Extending to Other Religions

Source: NY Times

In an interview with Charlie Sykes, a Wisconsin talk radio host, Mr. Sykes specifically pressed Mr. Pence on his running mate’s Muslim ban, asking: “So there’s no longer a proposed temporary ban on Muslims? It would be anyone from those countries, including Christians? Jews?”

“I think what you heard in the convention speech from Donald Trump, what we’ve talked about out on the stump, is that we would temporarily suspend from countries, or territories if you will — the caliphate of ISIS obviously expands beyond one country,” he said. “But to say that individuals that come from regions or countries that have been compromised by terrorism would, that we would suspend that immigration, I think that’s appropriate until we develop a new vetting system.”

Yes please! America needs more fear, intimidation, hate and division. Thank you conservatives!

It is all Fundamentalists, Evangelicals and Pentecostals - the Rove coalition.

ETA: Members of these churches show up at the polls with printed voter guides. They are told to leave them behind for the next voters. We have to sweep the area after they vote to remove the propaganda.

Episcopalians
ELCA Lutherans
United Church of Christ
Unitarians

Catholics are useful tools for the GOP - they just have to make the correct noises about the gays, abortion, and keeping people from making end of life decisions and there's a sizeable part of the church that will vote for them no matter what. And then there are Bishops who buy into the GOP's "pro-life" bullshit and try to intimidate people into voting for the GOP candidates.

And most Catholics will not vote for Cheeto Benito.

However there is still this subset of Catholics who will vote for His Orangeness precisely because of his bigotry towards Muslims, Latinos, blacks, and other brown skinned people, and because he locked horns with Pope Francis. You would think they would know better given how their ancestors were treated, but it can be kind of surprising sometimes how they use the same words that were hurled at their ancestors. I've had to deal with some of them around here where I live. One of the most liberating things about leaving the church was not having to pretend that I actually liked these people.

And now in case of DTs getting tossed off the ticket, Pence will be elevated to the top slot in the GE.

Sadly, for those not paying attention, Mike Pence looks sane and plausible.

Pence looks normal and has a more regular temperament, but he's still a hater and part of the tealiban movement to give their members the right to break laws based on their so called faith. What happened to the economy under GW is the same thing that would happen under Pence, no real difference economically. Don't know where Pence stands on military and foreign issues, though if he's support Drumpf who's in the tank for Russia, it does make you wonder a lot about his judgement. I still think HRC would win, but man would that be a nail biter.
